Maiev US (PvP) is a medium population server named after Maiev Shadowsong who is being held in a prison cell in Shadowmoon Valley by Servants of Illidan and Akama. Maiev is a member of Battlegroup US Cyclone, the servers are physically located in Seattle, Washington, USA. (See US realm list by datacenter.)

Even though the Horde greatly outnumber the Alliance, the Alliance have the better drops from Illidan in Black Temple, Get Well Soon managed to get the server's first Warglaive of Azzinoth (off hand) on their first kill. Wren from GWS received Warglaive of Azzinoth (Main hand) on 8/6/08 to complete the set. PvP wise, during the Burning Crusade era, Horde tacticians from the guild Nõthing Personal dominated the battlegroup in Arenas' and Battlegrounds such as Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. Unfortunately guild leader Kuvarro disbanded Nõthing Personal and to this day has refused to level to 80.
In Wrath of the Lich King content, Horde guilds maintain dominance of the server. Perennial powerhouses Power Word: Awesome and Order of Medivh, the reemerged Defiant, and the relatively new guild FrozenAngelz all regularly clear all endgame content. Alliance raiders have gravitated towards Rusty Musket and Team Banzai, but have not had the same success as their Horde counterparts. In early 2010, the KGB transferred to Proudmoore under the banner of Zephyr,[1] most of Renascentia transferred to Ner'zhul to form <Ab Initio>, and Rewind disbanded. Most raiders on the alliance side have ended up in Pandemic, which leads the alliance ICC progression by a wide margin.
As for fun facts about the server, Maiev does have its share of tomfoolery. Server legend Jalapeno (Undead Mage) dominates trade chat with his/her famous phrase "Maiev ask me anything =)" Garnering 100s of questions. Holmuim (Blood Elf Priest) causes quite a stir with what is undoubtedly the single most self-serving server progression thread ever stickied by Blizzard. Rollzcasinø (Orc Warrior) effects the economy of the server by spreading the popular trend of the /roll Casino. He has collected a total of 4832 gold purely from his popular casino. All in all, Maiev is a fairly normal, low to mid population, backwater PvP server.
