Oceanic servers
Serverstatus

This article is an information page for the Proudmoore realm (server)

The contents herein are entirely player made and in no way represent official World of Warcraft history or occurrences which are accurate for all realms. The information and events listed are of an independent nature and applied for roleplaying, fictional, speculative, or opinions from a limited playerbase only.

Proudmoore is a large US, PvE, and PST-based server.

Proudmoore was one of the original World of Warcraft server and has been active since November 23, 2004. It was also one of the first servers to offer character transfers. Queues during the Summer of 2005 reportedly reached 1200 or more, often with a waiting time of over two hours.

The server also has become a type of unofficial LGBT-friendly server. The designation of Proudmoore as such a realm is perhaps related to name of the server, connecting the "Proud" in "Proudmoore" to the concept of "LGBT pride" or "gay pride." As a result, many guilds on the server specify that they are LGBT-friendly in their recruitment posts and ads.

Population[]

While Proudmoore is a high population server, its player base has historically been spread out among North American, Asian and Australian / New Zealand time zones. With the introduction of Oceanic servers however, this population has lowered.

The server has a much heavier Alliance side. Reportedly, there is about 10 Alliance characters for every 1 Horde character.

Server achievements[]

The server placed 12th in the race to open the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj after initially leading the charge (after which, Medivh became the world first opener).

On April 28, 2008 (according to now-offline US.Gorgonnash.info), Proudmoore was the world's first server to fully complete the Sun's Reach campaign, and had in fact been the world's first server to open phases 2, 3 and 4 of the Shattered Sun Offensive. The players' desire to avoid a repeat of the AQ race, as well as the server's very large Asian, Australian, and New Zealand player base - playing during off-peak hours - contributed heavily to these achievements.
