Silver Hand is a Role Playing server, one of the few online since WoW's release in November 2004. At that time it was the only Role Playing server set to Pacific time. Hence, many of the server's first players live on the U.S. West Coast, and it attracted many players from Hawaii and Australia as well.
Silver Hand, like many RP servers, has a large faction imbalance favoring the Alliance, which has in the past detrimentally affected PvP queue times for the Alliance, and continues to affect World PvP.

World Events
The Ahn'Qiraj War Effort
Silver Hand was the 14th server to complete the War Effort and open the gates to Ahn'Qiraj, and the first Roleplaying server to do so. Ariana from "Silence", Poseidon from "The Rising Shadow", and Raperty from "Leftovers" rang the gong that day. Following the ringing of the gong, the server promptly crashed due to the overwhelming number of players and NPCs in Silithus.
Raiding
Molten Core
The first Ragnaros kills for Alliance and Horde were by Silence and Stormfist, respectively.
Blackwing Lair
The first Nefarian kills for Alliance and Horde were by Silence and Wartorn, respectively.
Ahn'Qiraj
The first C'Thun kills by Alliance and Horde were by Silence and Stormfist respectively.
Karazhan
The first Karazhan full clears on Silver Hand by Alliance and Horde was by Unos and Ruckus respectively.
PvP
To this day the Southshore and Tarren Mill wars are still spoken of. The site of world pvp has long since vanished, but from time to time there are still great battles. While the SS-TM wars are dead, there seems to be a bit of activity of World PVP still, whether be it Alliance attacking the Undercity or the Horde taking over the boat between Theramore and Menethil.
Pally Pot/Team Marshal/Marshal Team - Infamous/famous team which was comprised of many well known PVPers, this group produced many Grand Marshals. This team was known throughout the server eventually as Pally Pot because of its use of paladins and potions in battlegrounds (Oil of Immolation, Free Action Potions and Swiftness Potions).
TKAPITTL: Team Kick Ass Push It To The Limit: One could say this is the Horde Version of Pally Pot which produced many high ranking characters as well.
