Shadow Word: Void is a level 15 Shadow priest talent that replaces [Mind Blast].

Functionality

Essentially an upgraded [Mind Blast], Shadow Word: Void features the following in comparison:

• A second charge
• A larger spell power co-efficient (130% vs 120%)
• Higher Insanity generation (15 vs 12)

These bonuses come at the cost of the recharge period being 1.5s longer than Mind Blast's cooldown (before Haste).

Notes

• The recharge period is reduced by Haste.

Patches and hotfixes

• Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Shadow Word: Void now replaces [Mind Blast]. Charges reduced to 2, down from 3. Recharge time reduced to 9 sec, down from 20 sec. Insanity generated reduced to 15, down from 20.
  
• Hotfix (2017-06-13): Shadow Word: Void damage increased by 20% in PvP situations.
  
• Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10): Now recharges in 20 seconds (was 30 seconds).
