The Shepherd's Gate (or the Magister's Gate)[1][2] serves as the main entry into Silvermoon from Eversong Woods. The Shepherd's Gate was not the original entrance to the city. Remnants of the original entry can be seen down the Dead Scar, and a large, sealed gate in the Bazaar blocks the path. This area remains inaccessible.
It was named as such some time after the fall of Quel'Thalas in honor of Prince Kael who entered the ruined city some time after the Scourgeinvasion through this gate. In Year 25, the broken elfGalell hung a dealer named Orovinn upon the statue of Kael'thas.[3]
