Storm Elemental Row 2 Elemental shaman talent 2.5 min cooldown Instant Calls forth a Greater Storm Elemental to hurl gusts of wind that damage the Shaman's enemies for 30 sec. While the Storm Elemental is active, each time you cast Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning, the cast time of Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning is reduced by 3%, stacking up to 10 times.

It is an exclusive choice node with [Fire Elemental].

Patch changes

• Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 2 Elemental talent (was a level 35 Elemental talent). Now an exclusive choice with [Fire Elemental], rather than replacing it.
  
• Hotfix (2022-03-07): The Storm Elemental's Wind Gust effect gained from casting [Lightning Bolt] or [Chain Lightning] now has a maximum stack of 10 (was 20). Additionally, if you cast Storm Elemental again while having a Storm Elemental active, the Wind Gust buff will be reset.
  
• Patch 9.2.0 (2022-02-22): Storm Elemental's Wind Gust now lasts for the duration of the Storm Elemental (was 30 seconds).
  
• Patch 9.1.5 (2021-11-02): The Storm Elemental's Eye of the Storm ability is no longer maximum target capped and instead deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets.
  
• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now available at level 35 (was 60).
  
• Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): While the Storm Elemental is active, casting Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning now reduces the cast time of Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning by 3%, stacking up to 10 times. Now available at level 60 (was 90).
  
• Patch 7.2.5 (2017-06-13): Storm Elemental's Wind Gust and Call Lightning damage increased by 25%.
  
• Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10):
  • Cooldown is now 2.5 minutes (was 5 minutes) and duration is now 30 seconds (was 60 seconds).
  • Wind Gust damage is now 48% (was 42%) and Call Lightning damage is now 96% (was 84%).
    
• Hotfix (2016-09-23): Storm Elemental's Call Lightning and Wind Gust damage increased by 20%.
  
• Hotfix (2016-08-22): Storm Elemental Wind Gust now generates 10 Maelstrom per cast (was 8).
