The Stormpike clan is a respected dwarven clan, and are well known for their fine and discerning tastes.[1] They are apparently rich dwarves as well[2] and are said to have an eye for excellence.[3] Stormpikes don't like being bothered with trivial matters.[4]
The dwarven Stormpike Expedition has set up residence in the valley to search for natural resources and ancient relics. Despite their intentions, the dwarven presence has sparked heated conflict with the Frostwolf Orcs to the south, who have vowed to drive the interlopers from their lands.[5]
Customs[]
The Stormpike clan's mount trainers have a tradition of etching their names onto the left horn of every battle ram they raise.[6]
The Stormpike clan is renowned for their rigorous training methods.[7]

In the RPG[]
The mighty dwarves of the Stormpike clan (and others) also train battle rams to serve as loyal mounts.[8]
According to Brann the Stormpike clan have taken a liking to the Alterac Mountains and defend them fiercely against the trolls and orcs invading the area.[9] By taking a few troll heads, the Stormpikes manage to form a close bond with Wildhammer dwarves. The Stormpike clan is also known for working with the Wildhammer clan, as well as some of the last high elves.[10]
The war started because of a misunderstanding over religious beliefs; the orcs attacked the Stormpikes because the orcs' spirits had been desecrated, and the dwarves are not aware of the spirits. While Brann Bronzebeard understands why the Frostwolves want the land, he simply doesn't understand why the trolls want Alterac.[9] The fighting in region became intense, with both Frostwolves and the Stormpike dwarves fighting over the resources in the area — mostly gold, steel and other types of metal.[11] He feels these bizarre attempts to take the Alterac Mountains keep the Stormpike clan and their allies away from the front lines against the Scourge, and that it would be better if both sides would get along to fight the other threats.[12]
Some humans help out the Stormpike clan as well. "Captain Balinda Stonehearth commands a massive human unit reinforcing the Stormpike clan in the valleys of the Alterac Mountains."[13]
