Stormwind is the faction associated with Stormwind City, the capital of the Alliance humans as well as the Kingdom of Stormwind. It is located in the northwestern part of Elwynn Forest. It was formerly ruled by the young child king Anduin Wrynn, regent Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, and Lady Katrana Prestor, before the return of Anduin's father, King Varian Wrynn, just before the war against the Lich King.

Recently however the Kingdom once again came under the rule of Anduin Wrynn after the death of his father at the Broken Shore at the start of the Burning Legion's third invasion.

Reputation

Many zones contain quests that reward Stormwind reputation, including: Elwynn Forest, Westfall, Redridge Mountains, Stonetalon Mountains, Southern Barrens, Duskwood, Northern Stranglethorn, and Twilight Highlands.

Daily cooking and fishing quests that reward reputation are available in Stormwind. The fishing daily is given by Catherine Leland^{[55.0, 69.6]} along the Canals west of the Trade District. The cooking daily is given by Robby Flay^{[60.1, 36.4]}, just outside of the Stockades in the Mage Quarter.

The Stormwind Quartermaster is Captain Lancy Revshon^{[67.6, 72.8]}, located in the Trade District. At all reputation levels she sells the  [Stormwind Tabard], which can be used to champion Stormwind.

Reputation can also be gained by competing in the Argent Tournament (requires level 80) or by turning in Stormwind Writ of Commendations from the Molten Front (requires level 85).

Exalted with Stormwind is one of the requirements for achieving the title of Alliance Ambassador.

Rewards

At revered reputation, Captain Lancy Revshon sells a unique 16-slot bag.

At exalted reputation, Captain Lancy Revshon sells level 35 cloaks, and non-Stormwind-human Alliance races are able to purchase and ride Horse mounts (Stormwind humans can ride Stormwind horses regardless of faction reputation). Stormwind is also unique in that it is the only racial player faction in the game to have more than one vendor available for their mounts; pandaren only have two so their mounts are available whether the player choses to go Alliance or Horde, and gryphons/wyverns do not require racial reputation.

Stormwind horses are bought from Katie Stokx^{[77.0, 67.8]} in Stormwind City, Gregor MacVince^{[65.2, 51.4]} in Theramore, Katie Hunter^{[84.0, 65.4]} at Eastvale Logging Camp, Elwynn Forest and Unger Statforth at Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands. Please note that only Katie Stokx and Unger Statforth sell the Black Stallion, and Gregor MacVince does not give a Stormwind faction discount. Unarmored horses are available starting at level 20, with armored horses available at level 40.
