Objectives

Collect Darkened and Pitch Black Scourgestones from undead forces in Icecrown.

Description

The Lich King's minions once carried scourgestones given to them by their dark master.

New ones have been found on the corpses of the undead. We do not know their purpose... but they have been touched by even more sinister magic.

As you slay the Scourge across Icecrown, keep your eyes open for such stones. If you bring them back to me, I shall turn them over to the confessors for study.

• +75 reputation with Argent Crusade

I will turn these over to the confessors immediately. There is more to these scourgestones than it seems.

Perhaps they will grant us more knowledge of the creatures that assail us from the rift in the sky.

If you find any additional scourgestones while you are adventuring, please bring them to me.

Notes

The act of looting scourgestones is what fills the bar, not the presence of any in bags before picking up the quest. Additionally, the absolute amount of scourgestones looted doesn't matter, just the act of looting stones. Each  [Darkened Scourgestone] loot is worth 10%, and each  [Pitch Black Scourgestone] loot is worth 20%.

Bosses are an excellent source of the pitch black stones - usually dropping in the mid-30s on a twenty-minute respawn timer.

Completing this daily unlocks the repeatable quests  [50] Darkened Scourgestones and  [50] Pitch Black Scourgestones.

Description

The minions of the Lich King once carried scourgestones, granted by their dark master. Recently, we have found the rampaging undead carrying a new sort of stone. These stones are darker, more sinister, and we do not know their purpose.

As you slay the undead rampaging across Icecrown, keep your eyes open for such stones. If you bring them back to me, I shall turn them over to the confessors for study.

I will turn these over to the confessors immediately. There is more here than simply a strange stone, and perhaps they will lead us to answers about the creatures assaulting our world from beyond the veil.

If you find any additional scourgestones while you are adventuring, I can take them off of your hands.
