Subterfuge is a rogue class talent.
Patch changes[]
Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 4 class talent (was a level 25 Assassination and Subtlety talent). No longer affects 
[Shadow Dance] or 
[Garrote]. - Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now level 25 (down from 30).
- Hotfix (2018-12-12): Fixed a bug that caused Subterfuge to not be applied when attacking during [Vanish].
- Hotfix (2018-08-10):
- Bonus reduced to 80% (was 100%).
- Subterfuge causes Garrote to deal an additional 50% damage when cast from stealth in PvP situations (was 100%).
- Patch 7.2.5 (2017-06-13): Subterfuge's duration increase to Shadow Dance reduced to 1 second (was 2 seconds).
- Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10): Damage bonus to Garrote increased to 125% (was 100%).
- Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): No longer available to Outlaw rogues. Now available at level 30 (was 15). Now also increases the duration of Shadow Dance for Subtlety and causes Garrote to deal additional damage and have no cooldown when used from Stealth for Assassination.
- Hotfix (2015-03-05): Fixed an issue where macros intended to work while [Shadow Dance] was active would stop working when the effects of Subterfuge ended.

- Fixed an issue where Subterfuge and Vanish interacted incorrectly, resulting in the wrong action bar being displayed for a short time.

- Hotfix (2015-02-25): Attacking targets immediately after Vanish transitions to [Stealth] should now correctly remove Stealth and trigger Subterfuge.
- Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Now allows you to use abilities that require Stealth for 3 seconds after leaving Stealth, instead of actually staying stealthed for 3 seconds.
- Hotfix (2014-03-18): Resolved an issue where Vanish modified by [Glyph of Vanish] was incorrectly causing the Subterfuge effect to trigger twice. Vanish will now cancel its effect when the duration of Subterfuge expires.
- Hotfix (2012-12-13): Various weapon procs will no longer sometimes prematurely break the Stealth provided by the Subterfuge talent.
