Sunreaver Guardian Mages guard the Horde district of Dalaran, the Sunreaver's Sanctuary. They are hostile to Alliance players, and will teleport any of them away if approached. They bear the name of their leader, Archmage Aethas Sunreaver.

This section concerns content related to Legion.

By the time Dalaran was teleported to Deadwind Pass, the Sunreaver's Sanctuary was now empty and patrolled by Kirin Tor Guardians. Strangely, Sunreaver Guardian Mages reappeared in the Sanctuary when Dalaran was next attacked by the Burning Legion.^[1]

They have been replaced by Forsaken Guards as of Dalaran's relocation to the Broken Isles.

Notes

Their hostile reaction to Alliance players seems to extend to hostile units too, and the Silver Covenant Agent was a common target of kiting to the Sunreaver Guardians, who would constantly expel the apparent intruder.

Speculation

It is possible that as they replaced the Kirin Tor guards when Dalaran was above Deadwind Pass, they may be intended to be the blood elven prisoners of the Violet Hold that Jaina Proudmoore had imprisoned.^[2] In its the subsequent appearance, no Sunreaver prisoner is seen in the Hold.
