This item (and its less powerful brother [Goblin Sapper Charge]) is well noted for the damage it inflicts. To you, to everyone around you.
Effective when used by a class with high health but low damage (Such as a protection Paladin using 
[Fire Resistance Aura]) against a class with low health but high damage (Such as a Rogue).
Saying 'I'm going down, might as well take you with me' won't be understood by a member of the opposing faction. This delivers the same message in the universal language of explosions.
When you say 'I'd die for an AoE', this says 'Put your money where your mouth is'.
