|Affiliation(s)||Kingdom of Quel'Thalas|
|Occupation||Ranger-General of Silvermoon|
Talanas Windrunner was the first Ranger-general of Silvermoon, and a prominent member of the Windrunner family. He was the wielder of , a mighty bow carved from the mother tree of Eversong, Thas'alah, and bathed in the power of the Sunwell. Together, Talanas and his bow helped ensure the protection of Quel'Thalas for years to come.
Talanas was the greatest of the first elven rangers. Famed for his peerless mastery of archery and ranged combat, he swiftly rose in the ranks and, for his valor and bravery, was named the first Ranger-general of Silvermoon. The leaders of Silvermoon commemorated the occasion by declaring that their champion be given a weapon befitting his new status. Highborne weaponsmiths carved this weapon from the mother tree of Eversong, Thas'alah, and enchanted it with the arcane waters of the Sunwell. Talanas was humbled by the gift, and named it Thas'dorah, "Valor of the Forest."
Talanas proclaimed that so long as Thas'dorah protected the kingdom, Silvermoon would never fall. Indeed, Silvermoon stood strong for seven thousand years to come – and it fell while Thas'dorah was lost.
The ranger-general was as good as his word. His bow was so masterfully crafted that even a novice archer could excel with the weapon in their hands. In his hands, it became infamous. Talanas and Thas'dorah struck fear into the elves' hated rivals, the Amani trolls, for when the bow was within their sight, they were within its range. Talanas fought deep into Quel'Thalas' woodlands, allowing his people to settle even deeper into Eversong. Talanas became a legend for his part in securing the land of Quel'Thalas for future generations.
