Could it be that the Alliance was formed prior to Llane's death? Coz the novelization describes Garona wearing Alliance armor in chapter 10, when Garona said that Khadgar wants to lie with her. --Mordecay (talk) 16:27, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- I could easily be wrong on this as I've only seen the film. As I understand it, the Alliance is already a thing and includes humans, dwarves, high elves and probably gnomes too, only the Alliance isn't very tightly knit yet. PeterWind (talk) 16:55, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- The film did give the impression that the Alliance existed before the Horde. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:23, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- I thought after seeing the movie that the seven kingdoms, Ironforge and Quel'Thalas did had diplomatic relationships and sometimes gave each other assistance, but that the Alliance didn't existed yet Xporc (talk) 17:29, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- I tweeted Christie Golden about this, but sadly no reply yet. The book does say "Alliance" once prematurely, but this may simply be a lore slip. Likewise, at one point it says "When Lothar spied the crate stamped with the symbol of Ironbeard and the Bronzebeard crest, he headed straight for it." I strongly suspect this is a typo for "Ironforge", which has already been established as the source of the boomsticks, and not the announcement of a new Ironbeard dwarf family, with no further explanation. The book has a few other slips and typos too.

- To me, the film gave a clear impression that the Alliance was formed after Llane's death - the word is never heard until the funeral, at which its formation and passionate shouts work perfectly to represent the new solidarity between the various nations and races, serving to produce a positive ending to the film (and book). Given how much effort went into streamlining the film's story, this seems a lot more likely than intentionally writing a rather confusing and very unclear increase in solidarity within a pre-existing faction. Anything's possible, though. Is the Alliance mentioned in the comic? -- Taohinton (talk) 01:18, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
