They do so exist[]
In Tidewalker's room there are a bunch.--SWM2448 00:17, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- There's even a question? Both factions have a sample in plain sight, one in Ironforge, and one in Orgrimmar. Whoever asked hasn't been paying attention.
- 'See also' section vs 'Baby murloc small pet' section - 'See also' does not highlight the distinction between the baby murlocs as used in the quest 'Have You Ever Seen One of These?' and baby murlocs encountered as small pets. Using 'See also' and three bare links to the small pets with no preamble seems to say that they are related to the quest. This distinction begs for disambiguation. Distinct headings for each use of baby murlocs makes it clear that they are different. Madkaugh (talk) 20:32, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- They do so exist in Outland. In [10-30] Have You Ever Seen One of These?, the troll says there are no murlocs in Outland, but In Morogrim Tidewalker's room there are a bunch of them. Yes, a disambiguation may be needed, as Baby Murloc is the name of this mob and the pet type.--SWM2448 20:39, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, question for ya; I looked up Morogrim Tidewalker, having not had the personal pleasure of his acquaintance. And I gather from the article that he summons murlocs, as opposed to has murlocs resident with him. True? So, in order to be technically correct all the time, Witch Doctor Tor'gash (the troll) would have to change his answer based on whether murlocs were currently spawned in Morogrim Tidewalker's room. But Serpentshrine Cavern is an instance, so murlocs could both be present and not be present in Morogrim Tidewalker's room in different sessions of the instance. (shades of quantum mechanics!)
- Another time Witch Doctor Tor'gash would be wrong is if a character with one of the baby murloc small pets went to Outland.
- Summoned mundane creatures corporeally exist where they are summoned to. A murloc summoned to Morogrim Tidewalker's room would be in Morogrim Tidewalker's room.
- You might ask if an instance is really in its regional location. That depends on what point of view you are looking at it from. An instance is like a pocket universe from a game logic point of view, that's kind of the point. From a plot logic point of view, however, it's just another place in the region. Witch Doctor Tor'gash should be speaking from a plot point of view, he knows nothing of the game behind his world. Breaking the fourth wall is not a trope that WOW uses.
- There is nothing to indicate that Witch Doctor Tor'gash is particularly simple. Other troll witch doctors encountered in the game have capabilities that no other character has. If the plot demanded it, I suppose he would be able to scry. It seems he would pretty much have to know his scrying target, though. I suppose short of omniscience he couldn't continually know the state of every location in his region vis a vis murlocs, which is what his statment literally implies.
