Are these official or fan art?[]

There are a number of images that I'm not sure if they are renders of in-game assets or if they're fan art (if others are suspect please add them to the gallery here):

The red banner is seen http://www.wowhead.com/npc=15105/warsong-envoy#screenshots with the Warsong Envoy. Mrforesttroll (talk) 13:51, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

So, with Classic and all that, can we check if any of these banners are around? And about the orcish ones, they are only found in the files not in the game? It'd be helpful to have a good screenshot of the banners for the infoboxes. --Ryon21 (talk) 14:22, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Move to faction banners[]

Maybe a better page name would be faction banner, this name would allow possible inclusion of banners that really aren't banners such as for the Ebon Blade or Twilight's Hammer cult (when I created this page I avoided those). With flight point banners being only mentioned in notes. Also I just viewed a Zuldazar video where I saw that they use banners a lot in the market and in place of signposts. A lot of these aren't really faction banners. Not verifiably in any case. If we have a banner, we don't always have its intended meaning along with it. PeterWind (talk) 19:32, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

Agreed. And I don't see why you couldn't add Ebon Blade and TH banners to this page.

I also think this page should not be an article, but a category. The banners as Peter said do not always have meaning. So we have nothing to write about. This page has the function of a category : 'a collection of pics of every single thing remotely resembling a banner in the game'.

I don't mind this existing as a page. I think sections like the flightmaster/taxi flags are neat. I know it's a work in progress so I won't pass any final (personal) judgements yet. Descriptions and elaborating notes are fine, as long as presumptions are avoided. PeterWind (talk) 06:20, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Cleanup[]

To improve this page, I suggest two additional rules: 1) That a screenshot that is not of a banner but merely has banners in it is not to be used, and 2) a strip of cloth with nothing on it is not a banner.--SWM24 48 03:07, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

1) Agreed.

2) Examples? After a quick look, I presume it would be these File:Nighthaven banner in Val'sharah.jpg File:Banner in Dazar'alor 2.jpg, File:Banner in Dazar'alor 1.jpg ? They look more like decorations rather than faction / racial banners. --Mordecay (talk) 12:12, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
