Tiron's Order?

If you listen to the dialogue between Scarlet Commander Marjhan and Commander Eligor Dawnbringer (of the BotL), Eligor mentions that a "Lord Fordring" could cast Merjhan out of LHC. Perhaps this indicates the BotL is the reformed Order of the Silver Hand by Tirion Fordring after the death of his son (the quest "In Dreams")? --Asherett 20:00, 29 November 2006 (EST)

In a heated debate at Light's Hope Chapel with Scarlet Commander Marjhan about the [Ashbringer], Commander Eligor Dawnbringer of the Brotherhood threatens that he will tell "Lord Fordring and his knights" that Marjhan is no longer there on amicable terms. Some believe that Dawnbringer is referring to Tirion Fordring, and conclude that the Brotherhood is the "new order" of holy warriors that Tirion sought to create after the fall of the Silver Hand. Others argue that the simplest explanation is that the order founded by Tirion is what he said it would be ("I now take my place as Highlord of the new Order of the Silver Hand."), and that Dawnbringer is referring to Scarlet Highlord Taelan Fordring, with the meaning that Dawnbringer would contact Marjhan's superior, the Highlord of the Scarlet Crusade, who would be in a natural position to "see to [her] atonement". One might consider the Tirion Fordring questline to logically have occurred before the player reaches this point in the game, and for Taelan Fordring therefore to already have been killed in terms lore. However, the  [Corrupted Ashbringer] lore casts doubt on this sort of linear interpretation of player-driven events; according to events in that questline, Scarlet Commander Mograine is still alive, despite the fact that he was very likely killed by the player as part of the Scarlet Monastery questline twenty levels earlier.

Tirion's new order is simply called "Order of the Silver Hand". The 2nd Tirion-NPC has a faction tag displaying this name, and in Stratholme you can meet 5 of his paladins in full T2-gear who have the same tag. Regardless, Dawnbringer still refers to Tirion - who seems to refrain from harassing the Scarlet Crusade (which killed his son, sort of) only because it is allied with the Argent Dawn. As for Renault Mograine: simply because a player has defeated him, this does not mean he is canonically dead. Obviously some research stands to be done, but from what I understand, Scarlet Commander Mograine is canonically dead as a result of the  [Corrupted Ashbringer] questline. He is supposed to be slain by the spectre of the elder Highlord Mograine. Going back to the matter of the Brotherhood, Dawnbringer's talk dialog indicates that Korfax is a force to be feared -- in addition, Korfax' nameplate identifies him as <Champion of the Light>. Considering the tradition in this game of the "Champion" being dissociated from the "Leader," I imagine that Dawnbringer is the political leader of the Brotherhood, while Korfax is the military commander, the field leader. (Note the relationship between Lady Sylvanas as the Forsaken political leader, while Nathanos Marris is the Champion of the Forsaken, and supreme commander of Forsaken forces on their closest and most dangerous front, the Plaguelands.) In addition, the Brotherhood is more obliquely described (by Brotherhood NPCs at LHC) as the Argent Dawn's mission combined with the Scarlet Crusade's military stance, and minus the Crusade's zealotry. So the goal of the Brotherhood is to destroy the Scourge, and seems to have a solid connection to Naxxramas -- they have an agent on the inside, whereas the Dawn does not. Father Inigo Montoy is a Brotherhood NPC, and that's who Kel'Thuzad's Phylactery goes to. The whole point of this is to indicate my assertion that the Brotherhood will be the faction in Wrath of the Lich King that will be associated with Naxx 2.0. It's the most logical means to extend the goals of the Argent Dawn into Northrend without actually taking the Dawn there.CrowUnlimited 20:21, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Role of the Brotherhood of the Light in the Argent Crusade?

I know the Brotherhood kept the peace between the Argent Dawn and the Scarlet Crusade but what is the Brotherhoods purpose now that the Scarlet Crusade basically is all but wiped out and the Argent Dawn is now the Argent Crusade, so what does the Brotherhood do for the Argent Crusade? In Cataclysm, The Brotherhood is concerned with the eradication of the remaining Scourge and the Risen (resurrected Scarlet Crusader that serve Balnazzar) at the Eastern Plaguelands.GVJB (talk) 19:59, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
