Related to Wrathion or Deathwing?[]
Would he have a 'Relatives' section with some of the other black dragons? Could he be labelled Deathwing's son, since he seems to be from a clutch Deathwing fathered. I dunno, just spitballing. Meganerd18 (talk) 08:04, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- He never says Deathwing is his father, only that his father's bones are in Neltharion's Lair. But given that Neltharion's Lair was the capital of the black dragons and that Deathwing died at the Maelstrom, those aren't Deathwing's bones.ReignTG (talk) 12:24, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- Uh... no, that's not what I was referring to. I was referring to the fact that he hatched shortly after the War of the Ancients, moments after the newly mutated Deathwing had been banished from the lair. Deathwing's old lair means the eggs in there were probably all fathered by him (don't really see him letting any other black dragon males using his home), so therefore Ebyssian would have to be a brother to Onyxia and Nefarian. - Actually, part three of the
[Scale of the Earth-Warder] lore in the Saga of the Valarjar implies that there were several more black dragons or at least black dragonkin living in Neltharion's Lair at some point prior to the War of the Ancients. - "Though Neltharion was gone, many of his kin remained. A colossal fight broke out in the smaller side caverns beneath Highmountain, pitting the vrykul invaders against impossible odds. Magnar led his party in a frantic run for an exit, but before they could escape, Neltharion returned to his lair."
- I do agree that it seems like the eggs were Neltharion's own and I prefer to imagine that Ebyssian is the direct son of Deathwing, but it's worth keeping in mind the possibility that there were other dragons living in the lair (beside those three ghostly stone drakes, that is). --
