Just be curious: Why isn't a Felboar a Helboar? Don't see any differnence beside the names. They share the same model and the same skin...--LemonBaby (talk) 07:27, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Why isn't a Fel Blood Elf a Blood Elf? Because the demonic energy (fel) changed them into something different. Same goes with the boar, the demon blood in Shadowmoon Valley changed it into a "demonic" boar in a way. If you disagree I guess you can always change it back, but this is how I see it, and since the name itself implies that it is a felboar I thought it should be like this. --DoomeЯ TC 09:14, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that is the difference between a Boar and a Helboar. Helboars are Boars mutated by demonic influence. But what is the difference between a Helboar and a Felboar? Aren't Felboars, Dreadtusks and so on not just a subspecies of the Helboar? --LemonBaby (talk) 09:49, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure, I thought Helboars were boars mutilated by the influence of the Dark Portal and Felboars further mutilated by fel energy. As a matter of fact, most Helboars are found within Hellfire Peninsula. --DoomeЯ TC 10:19, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Isn't the incluence of the Dark Portel just fel energy that crossed over from Outland?--LemonBaby (talk) 10:48, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Well yes and no, the influence of the Dark Portal and all of the Outlands is fel energy or demonic, those affected by it would be the Helboars. Helboars weren't influenced by fel energy directly, they just "absorbed" the fel energy laying around them while Felboars are Helboars who "absorbed" the fel energy directly, i.e. drinking the demon blood found in Shadowmoon Valley. At least that's how I see it, my opinion obviously differs from others. --DoomeЯ TC 11:28, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, how they absorbed fel energy maybe a distinction. But all together its hard to explain why the Felboars from WC III looks like a Hellboar and a Dreadtusk (apperently a Helboar) looks like Felboar. And the distinction you pointed out is highly speculative. So why don't we treat all the fel energy tainted boars as Helboars? Its a name provided by blizzard and supported by lore. And from a wiki-standpoint: If someone wants to read something about the tainted boars, it is highly confusing to read about two different species (helboar and felboar) without any sourced background that differs them. Maybe we could list the felboar as part of the helboar family and write a speculation section on the Felboars page that they maybe absorbed the fel energy by other means?--LemonBaby (talk) 12:01, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Writing a speculation section and merging them sounds good to me if you feel like doing that. --DoomeЯ TC 12:05, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
I believe it was "Critter" on Draenor in Warcraft II, "Felboar" in Warcraft III (though it might have been spelled "Fel Boar" in the game itself), and "Helboar" in the vanilla Blasted Lands (which is what the RPG is talking about). TBC brought Helboars in HFP and Felboars in SMV, some of which of the latter were green. As for an overall name, helboar might be fine, but I think the names are interchangeable, not stages.--SWM2448 16:41, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
