Formats for the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor sections are inconsistant. --Cigawoot 13:33, 15 March 2006 (EST)
I'll see what I can do to make them more consistent... --Supahglu 17:30, 15 September 2006 (EDT)
invalid flight paths[]
Shortly after patch 1.12 I started seeing several new flight paths marked "INVALID", some in inaccessible zones, appear in the Eastern Kingdoms, see below. Apparently this only happened for Horde players, and only on Macs (both of which apply to me.) Might be worth adding to the article -- if I remember right, they started appearing at the end of August and as of this writing I think they're still there. (And sorry for the whole image but I forget how to put a link to an image.)
--Scrotch 23:31, 6 September 2006 (EDT)
Not only macs. PCs too (I have the problem too). Pzychotix 05:34, 7 September 2006 (EDT)
Oh, ok. The page with the image (Gilneas) had it as a Mac-only issue.--Scrotch 18:43, 7 September 2006 (EDT)
This seems to have been addon- or cache-related; I haven't heard any reports of it since WoW 2.0. User:Fizzwidget/Signature 22:37, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Just a Suggestion[]
It might be a good idea to list every path under each hub to avoid confusion. --Supahglu 17:38, 15 September 2006 (EDT)
- Done! User:Fizzwidget/Signature 22:37, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Speed?[]
How fast are taxis, exactly? I remember reading somewhere that they traveled at 150% speed... anyone else have any info on it? AzraelOpacus 14:15, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- Their speed is not regular, but it is usually beetween 300%-500% (100% being running speed).--Adys 14:17, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- I just had a friend tell me 450%, so that sounds about right. Should we edit it in? AzraelOpacus 16:12, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- No offense, but "a friend tell me 450%" is a bit of an awkward source ;) Wonder if there are any Blizzard statements on this.. --Tinkerer 16:21, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- MonkeySpeed, I think thats the name of the addon that actually shows speed compared to run speed. --Adys 21:52, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
Inconsistent prices[]
Many, but not all, of the prices listed here already include the 10% discount for being Honored with the flight master's faction. (e.g. 99 instead of 1 10, 45 instead of 50...) --DarkRyder 14:30, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
Outland flight prices are not adjusted for being honored. --Rordis 13:01, 19 January 2007 (CDT)
I've corrected all prices to the non-discounted value. Future editors, please be consistent if you add any new FPs! User:Fizzwidget/Signature 22:37, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
An update, and a suggestion[]
I'm pretty sure I was able to fly directly from Talrendis Point to Ratchet a couple of days ago (and if I remember correctly it only cost 0 99).
What would you think of putting Blood Watch and The Exodar under a separate heading, since they only connect to each other and nothing else? --Mwalimu 20:55, 16 February 2007 (EST)
- All FPs in the game as of now (WoW 2.0.12) should now be listed. Non-connecting networks in the Draenei and Blood Elf lowbie zones are sorted to the top of the listings for their sections, and colored differently... I think that's enough of a separation. User:Fizzwidget/Signature 22:37, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Another suggestion[]
There's also 2 more flight points, both from Moonglade. Druids (I don't think the other classes can do this) can take a free flight from Moonglade to Thunderbluff (if they are Horde) or to Teldrassil (Rut'theran Village if they are Alliance). I'm not too sure about the exact flight time, but to get to Thunderbluff, it takes about 10 minutes. --Ishen 14:55, 24 February 2007 (PST)
- Added the nodes, but I don't have a druid so I can't check the costs/times. User:Fizzwidget/Signature 22:37, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Split proposal[]
This article's pretty long and a bit of a pain to navigate (it's long enough to trigger the 32K warning on edit)... seems like splitting off pages for the Alliance and Horde FPs would be a logical way to ease the burden. I've been going through and verifying/fixing the tables (started by filling in Horde Outland FPs yesterday), so I'd be happy to handle the split... but I'm not sure where to put the resulting articles. Should they be subpages (Flight path/Horde) or separate named articles (Alliance Flight Paths)? User:Fizzwidget/Signature 15:15, 8 April 2007 (EDT)
- I like the idea of the subpages, and just have the main article link to those pages.Baggins 15:27, 8 April 2007 (EDT)
- Agreed.--ObiChad 00:10, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
- So, I've finished the adding/verifying of current FPs, times, and (non-discounted) prices. Is splitting something that requires a vote, or is an admin's thumbs-up okay? (Sorry, wikinoob here.) User:Fizzwidget/Signature 22:37, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
Addition suggestion[]
How about including the coordinates of the FP. I know that when I go into a new town, sometimes you have to search or ask the general population where the FP is (such as in SW, where it is not at all obvious.)
Death Knights and flight paths after Cataclysm[]
The Death Knights section says that they get all flight paths except for a few that were added after the Death Knights were created. Now with Cataclysm, we have a lot more flight paths. So, which ones do the Death Knights know? I don't have a Death Knight, or I would check myself.
Tulonsae (talk) 02:45, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- I've added an outdated flag for this section. Tulonsae (talk) 20:41, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Patch Changes[]
It looks like the patch changes section hasn't been kept up-to-date for a long time. I don't think it's particularly needed to keep a list of all the old changes for every single patch.
I would suggest that we have a list of all flight paths as of 4.0.3. And then keep track of the changes from that point on under the Patch Changes section.
I realize that there is the link to the wow map of all the flight paths, but I personally would like a check list by region. And I'm willing to help put that together.
Oh, and I think they should be subpages. Now, I notice that it talks about this above as if it's been done. But I don't see them on the current version of the page.
Tulonsae (talk) 02:44, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, after doing another search, I found flight path listing pages. I'm going to take a closer look and see about linking this page to those. Tulonsae (talk) 02:53, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- And, after that closer look, I see that there is a template and the flight path page links are in the upper right of the main page. I honestly didn't see them until about the 10th re-read. I think because it's in the section that I automatically ignore because that's usually where ads go (and this link table is not very large). Tulonsae (talk) 20:21, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Action taken:
- Added short see also for the flight path links table to main intro.
- Added summary note about Cataclysm flight path changes to History section.
- Removed old patch info from Patch Changes section. Left a place holder note to keep the section open for upcoming patches.
Tulonsae (talk) 21:04, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
External Links[]
The World of Warcraft community links are not working as expected. Just goes to the new forums now, instead of specific pages on the subject.
Tulonsae (talk) 02:50, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Per the response in the forums, I've commented out the bad links rather than remove them. Hopefully, Blizzard will add this information back on their site, and the links can be added back her at that time. Tulonsae (talk) 20:29, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Cancelling flights[]
Relogging doesn't work any longer (or does it?)... i remember, before a recent patch, that i sucessfully did this, but tried it again and no dice. Anybody got any clues on this? Shouldn't there be a '/cancelflight' command or soemthing... i mean, "hey, lemme out!" duh. ;>jamvaru (talk) 16:29, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
