Question of effects[]
How does this work? Will it also reduce the global cooldown for spells? -- LarsPensjo 09:29, 20 April 2007 (EDT)
- Can someone answer this question? Haste is worthless for Druids if it doesn't reduce the GCDRye 15:24, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- At least Berserking's haste effect does not reduce the global cooldown's duration. I tested it with [Scorch]; with a cast time of 1.05 sec, I was not able to spam it without having to wait for the GCD. I'm not sure whether this is true for all haste effects. --bfx 09:43, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Haste effects will never reduce the global cooldown

Does haste affect ppm effects? That is, do ppm mechanics take haste into account, giving the same procs per minute regardless of haste rating, or does haste increase the number of procs? Flowers 19:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
This page really needs a description explaining WHAT haste is. It has excellent details on HOW it works, but there is no real explaination what haste is with respect to the average user. "Haste increases attack speed" - In what way? For what weapons? With what skills? With what abilities? Many people understand that haste will 'speed up attacks' somehow - but they have no clue on how it actually works. --Savant 16:35, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Also of use would be a table of all items and effects that provide Haste.--ScratchMonkey (talk) 18:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Haste Cap?[]
Does anyone know if there is a cap to the speed that haste can reduce to? A friend told me it's 1.00 AS but I've gone to 0.99 a while back on my druid. Novawolf (talk) 23:37, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Haste calculation (correct or not?)[]
I have a rogue that I was respeccing some days after dinging level 80.
In the talent-tree, you have an entry called "Lightning Reflexes" (0/3), which if filled 3/3,
gives 6% dodge and 10% melee haste.
Now, my rogue had at that moment 204 hasterating (which gives 6.22% haste).
With two identical daggers with 1.8 speed, my speed will also be 1.8.
I consider that 1.8 speed equal to 100% speed.
Any alteration to the speed will affect that value.
So I started calculating what my speed would be if I were to put 3/3 in "Lightning Reflexes".
basespeed*(100%-(10%+6.22%))
1.8*(1-(0.1+0.0622)) --> 1.50804 speed
But here's where I halted...cause the tooltip says 1.54 speed.
So I tried different ways of calculating this...
(1.8*(1-0.1))*(1-0.0622) --> 1.519236 speed
1.8*(1-(0.0622*1.1)) --> 1.676844 speed
...then...
1.8/(1+(0.1+0.0622)) --> 1.548786784 *same as tooltip*
Now people reading this might now have reacted yet, but normally if you want to know the amount of
percent a value is of another value, you divide them by eachother, so by doing...
1.548786784/1.8, you get 86.0437102
This means that the speed you have after increasing the haste by 10%+6.22%, is a 13.95% increase?
Yes it actually means just that, even though I feel it is a totally wrong way of calculating it.
Normally you would expect 16.22% speedincrease as 10+6.22 cannot be anything else...
If you want to buy something in the store that cost 450 cr (credits) and it says on a note, that if
you buy today, you will get a 25% discount...how would you calculate that?
450/1.25 --> 360.0 cr? ...or...
450*(1-0.25) --> 337.5 cr?
This is actually not only a problem with the haste stat, but most of the calculations in the game.
This should either be accounted for and reflected back into the tooltips and the infosites all around,
or by changing the way all the calculations work to a more correct way of doing them.
