Picture Sources?[]
The article doesn't state the source of the pictures on the right, I am assuming they're from alpha but clarification would be desireable. Sk2k52 (talk) 09:13, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Regarding the map in WotLK - it is the alpha map. The thing is, they did the exact same thing with Burning Crusade. They used the alpha map, then pasted the new islands on top of it. This was of course corrected before retail. I suspect they did the same thing here, probably using that BC map and pasting Northrend on top.
Given the nature of both this and Gillijim's Isle, I doubt either place was intended to exist. They seem like joke islands to me (both with obvious references). They may have been intended at one point during the alpha, but it seems Blizzard for whatever reason (perhaps because they seemed too out-of-place with the world?) removed them before retail. Given that they are never mentioned again except when one of these old maps resurfaces, I suspect they are not considered to be part of the world.
In any case, even if Blizzard changed their minds on this, I find it highly unlikely they'd be added in a Northrend expansion. More likely, they would be included in one dealing with South Seas/Great Sea/Maelstrom. --WarlockSoL 18:41, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- Good point. I've already had to remove this from the WotLK article a while back - surprised it appeared here too :( Kirkburn talk contr 21:19, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
RPG Tag?[]
Why does this have the RPG tag? It has nothing to do with the WarCraft RPG.
I'm also a little curious where the "this is a Jungle Troll island" stuff is coming from (both here and on Gillijim's [1]) --WarlockSoL (talk) 16:51, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- I suspect it is due to the presence on RPG maps. As for why jungle troll - likely Image:Dr-Lapidis-isle-alpha.jpg. I will add a note about it. Kirkburn talk contr 07:15, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, just one RPG map (and the web suppliment at that), which I'd guess is just one of the other, old alpha maps anyways. I'd have to look. But the material itself does not come from the RPG (the RPG in fact does not mention it at all). --WarlockSoL (talk) 17:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- The islands appear on maps in most RPG maps, and the intro to WoW/TBC which are variations of the alpha map. The most updated version of those islands appear in the 2006 big sized world map poster, which was a completley original piece of artwork. Nothing here has anything to do with the RPG specifically.Baggins (talk) 21:28, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Unexisting or unaccesible?[]
The island in question is removed from the game, or is unaccesible for players?Dr.M.Ginius (talk) 14:08, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
