Isn't the Great Dark Beyond part of the material plane? It is just outer space, where worlds are situated. Rolandius (talk - contr) 04:13, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Each planet of the Material Plane is its own plane, and even the Emerald Dream overlaps and is considered part of the Material Plane as well as I recall... material plane is one of the most imprecise DnD derived terms ever...Baggins (talk) 04:16, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Which is just as vague, it means the exact same thing as Material Plane.Baggins (talk) 04:29, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- That is true, although I have seen that word used more often in the novels than material plane. Rolandius (talk - contr) 04:31, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- The RPG has all the terms I listed as alternate descriptions (usually lower case) of the capitalized proper noun "Material Plane".Baggins (talk) 04:34, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Forget your earth knowledge of the word. Plane means something entirely different in Azeroth and the world of Warcraft. The definition is given in the article.Baggins (talk) 04:45, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
demiplane[]
So there could be multiple demiplanes out there besides that one? Rolandius (talk - contr) 07:30, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- the book said "a demiplane". In anycase demiplane is one of the D&D terms, sorta like the "multiverse"(not sure that term made it into warcraft) .
Non-Existent Planes[]
This section seems, to me, to be utterly pointless. The only purpose it serves is to point out that the planes that exist in D&D do not exist in Warcraft. While possibly noteworthy for anyone playing the RPG, it seems less than useless for the purposes of the page as a whole... Much like the halfling article from awhile back. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 05:26, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Planes (World of Warcraft The Roleplaying Game)[]
How about moving the RPG section to it's own page Plane (World of Warcraft The Roleplaying Game) similar to Timeline (World of Warcraft The Roleplaying Game) and having a cleaner page for planes. And also maybe merging the pocket dimensions back into the Plane page as a section when there will be more room on the page. The "In RPG" section would be reduced to only mentioning that the RPG has a somewhat different cosmology and a link to that page. Mrforesttroll (talk) 16:36, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
- That may be a good idea. Xporc (talk) 10:48, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- Why the full name? Why not just (RPG)? — Surafbrov T / C 23:39, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- Just as that exists on the Timeline RPG page no other reason. Mrforesttroll (talk) 01:32, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- Same thing with the shorter version (e.g. Stonehoof (RPG)) — Surafbrov T / C 02:03, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- Oh there are other Timeline pages for different RPG books so that's why that is long my mistake it should be Plane (RPG). Do you agree with such a move to a separate page? Mrforesttroll (talk) 02:10, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- Not against it, would definitely help with cleaning up the page. — Surafbrov T / C 12:08, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- Moved it. Now that this page is cleaner should I merge the pocket dimension page back to this page as a section or should it be it's own page? I'm for merging it. Mrforesttroll (talk) 20:27, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
