Increased damage done or just returns?[]
"Some speculate that this talent allows Drain Life to be a viable alternative to Shadow Bolt spamming during boss fights, especially when there are lots of Affliction effects on the target."
Anyone that can confirm this? My understanding was that Soul Siphon increased the return value of Drain Life and Drain Mana, but didn't change the amount of health or life taken from the player's target. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Delily (talk · contr).

- Yes, the theory behind this is true. Soul Siphon does increase the amount of damage done to the target, as well as how much return you get from the spell. In regards to the SB comparability, obviously the more affliction spells on the target, the more damage done, and therefore the closer you get to closing the gap between spamming nukes, and maintaining dots.
- In my experience, having multiple of Affliction warlocks on a raid is priceless. We've managed to keep ourselves on the top of the damage charts almost always, just below a rogue or a high-DPS hunter. Having this spell is essential for an Affliction lock.

The way I see it, this talent makes your Drain Life spell not only a life saving necessity, but also a viable option for increased DPS which means that you can use it even when you're not in trouble. Also, let's not forget, that using your Drain Life spell increases your chances for a Nightfall proc.--Aqhat 00:35, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
