Possible inspiration[]
I was thinking the marshes reminded me quite a bit of a zone called the forgotten forest in a popular online module for Neverwinter Nights, when I saw the mage hermit, I was convinced, since there is a female mage hermit living in a tower in the forgotten forest zone of that module.
Just an idea. Nurizeko
- 'Old witch in murky swamp' is not an uncommon RPG feature. I really doubt Neverwinter Nights had anything to do with Tabetha. ---- Varghedin talk / contribs 10:51, 14 May 2007 (EDT)
- Good point, though Neither Tebetha nor the mage in NwN were old. Just a case of nostalgia I'm afraid. ^^; --Nurizeko
- Tabetha is old, according to lore. She's just...very well-preserved (also according to lore).

- She is clearly a dragon... I smell wyrm all over her. Lady in the middle of a dragon infested swamp just happens to be crazy powerful mage o.0 I could also see the Aegwynn theory working out with that book placing her in the area. --Saidee
"Generations"[]
In the file, it says she's been training people at her little shack for generations. Is this possible? I was under the assumption that the peoples of the Eastern Kingdoms (Humans, Blood/High Elves, Dwarves, etc) had only nominal knowledge of Kalimdor until only a few years back, and this knowledge was mostly from the High Elves and perhaps the occasional scrying. Apparently, some people have known about Kalimdor for quite some time. The goblins have been established there for over a decade before the third war, atleast. The House of Arcane Contraption was founded in the northern barrens 13 years before the third war, by goblins, and goblins often employ mercenaries of other races, including humans. Aegwynn herself was living on Kalimdor before the Allaince or Horde arrived. Its likely the mages Tabetha trained were allied with the goblin cartels, and probably included a few races other than humans, such as ogre magi. Though this is mostly speculation, ofcourse.Tweak the Whacked 06:19, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Or she didn't always live there. Maybe she just got bored w/ training mages in let's Dalaran and SW so she packed her things and headed into the unknown, which is now Dustwallow Marsh. Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 03:59, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Possible. Though the text does specifically say "training generations of apprintices at her farm".Tweak the Whacked 19:20, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Ooh, maybe she trained highborne? Or maybe she had a farm back at the EK, but now I'm just pulling at threads here Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 23:06, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Aegwynn's speculation[]
I think that the speculation should be removed as, with the recent death of Aegwynn, it appears to be proven fales. The same goes for Pained. I'll remove it from both articles if no one disagrees. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 19:06, January 14, 2010 (UTC)
