So... Patch 3.2.0 is going to be fun.
There's three levels of Tier 9: ___ of Conquest, ___ of Triumph, Heroic ___ of Triumph.
Additionally, both the Horde and the Alliance have different sets (but with the same stats).
So... we've got somewhere between 6 and 18 5-piece sets of gear to create.
Isn't Blizz great?
I've gotten started on the <Class> set templates, but only from the Alliance perspective.

Imo:
- Hunter sets are named after Vereesa Windrunner and Sylvanas Windrunner
- Warrior sets are named after Varian Wrynn and Garrosh Hellscream
Since the name are based on the "most powerful lore character" (note the "") of each class, but also on "rivalities":
- Vereesa/Sylvanas, the first considering the fate of her sister has awful[Name 1] and the fact that they are now "ennemies" throught the Alliance/Horde conflict
- Varian/Garrosh, the first hating the Orcs since his youth in the First War, and the second tauting him all over, just for bloodshed like his father.

- Vereesa's feelings towards her sister have long been the center of debate and speculation but they have never been expressed through an official channel. It's no more safe to assume the existance of Vereesa "rivalry" with her sister than Alleria's (if she returns). That's also making the assumtpion blizzard intended those two particular sets to be focused on rivalries. I think it's a possibility but that's it. It's equaly (imo more) plausible the sets were named after the greatests warrior/hunter in recent history of each faction. When you think Horde warrior you think Grom Hellscream, Garrosh isn't yet (if ever) the iconic orc warrior his father was. On the Alliance side Alleria is legendary, certainly more famous than her sister, one of the five who went through the portal, etc...
- I don't deny the possibility it's focused on these rivalrys. But since we have no official word as of yet i don't understand the problem with the article now. We can't make assumtpions on an independant contributor's opinions can we? I edited the article to be neutral. Had i decided to post my own views it would look different. If you must know, my first thought, and what i still believe now, is that they were named after Veressa and Grom.
- Another possibility is they are named after both respectively. Thus why Hellscream and Windrunner were used instead of Grom or Garrosh or Vereesa or Alleria. Possibly the same is true of Sunstrider.Warthok Talk Contribs 21:57, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Weird Naming[]
I find it weird that some of the armors are named after known traitors to their respective factions, like VanCleef's, Gul'dan's, and especially Kel'Thuzad's (since when was he a warlock, anyway?). Is it just me?

- I figured it was one of three things.
- 1) The names are out-of-universe names. What we call them but not nessesarly what our characters would, if they even call them anything at all. So blizzard choose the most prominent member from each /factions/class regardless of in universe opinion of them. I find this one unlikely though.
- 2) That the armor sets are named by the class that wears it. Many Orc warlocks might revere Gul'dan, even though the Horde overall doesn't. Some blood elf mages might still admire Kael'thas. Etc...

- I'm guessing it's because the 10-man set is ilvl 232 and the 25-man set is ilvl 245, but I've NEVER heard anyone refer to the tier sets by their item level. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Today's heroic mode kills seem to prove the information on the sources wrong. Neither does 10 man heroic drop Trophy of the Crusade T9 tokens (ilvl 245), nor does 25 man heroic drop Regalia T9 tokens (ilvl 258). It seems that in both heroic versions, you have to complete the tribute run (use less than 25 unsuccessful attempts) to get a token better than in the respective normal version. The bosses in 25 man heroic drop one Trophy of the Crusade per boss, just like in the 25 man normal instance. Bosses in 10 man heroic do not drop any T9 tokens. Thalur (talk)
- On the Tier 9 page we do not list [Trophy of the Crusade] as a drop from the instance. This is what it cost's to get that piece of armor. For a head piece (Item Level 232 or 10-player mode), you have to have 50 , for the Item Level 245 (10-player Heroic mode/25-player mode) you will have to have 75 and 1 , to purchase the item from the vendor NPC. To purchase the Item Level 258 (25-player Heroic mode) head piece, you will have to have a Regalia of the Grand

Heroic gone[]
Now that the heroic versions of the sets can no longer be obtained, should they stay at their respective "set/set item (heroic)" pages? It seems to be a formatting nightmare to try and put both the normal and heroic Triumph versions on the same page along with {{Removedfromgame}} on the heroic tab, not to mention that the normal version will show up in the removed category. --g0urra[T҂C] 14:14, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
