When you buy Warcraft 3, there is a face of one of the four races on the front. I' guessing that their names are:
Human face:Arthas
Night Elf Face:Tyrande
Undead Face:Kel'thuzad
Orc Face:Thrall
The pictures races' rulers.
the orc is not thrall beacuse thrall has much more beard on he's chin and he has no nose ring. I think it is grom hellscream
I just played the game first time, and I was VERY impressed by it's cinematics - as few as they were. This kind of quality is rarely seen even now, let alone a game that is at least 5 years old, nearly ten. Anyone got any juicy info about them? Like how long did they take to render with the equipment available back then or something of the like? --RocketBrother (talk) 17:52, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- A friggin' long time. Every hair, blade of grass, and speck of dust was individually rendered{{cite|AoW|24}}. In fact, the main reason they didn't talk of a movie until very recently was because it would take decades to achieve that sort of quality with pure CGI with the tech used for WC3.{{cite|AoW|120}} --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 17:57, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Custom maps[]

Mechanics inspiration[]
This article, or the expansion article, needs a section for skills and abilites and sound clips and icons, or at least a mention of such, that were in WC3 and got carried over to WoW. For example, the concept of hero classes, the classes themselves (Death Knight, Paladin, Archmage/Mage, Druids/Druid of the Claw/Druid of the Talon/Keeper of the Grove) and the entire Arthas/Uther/Jaina clip in the CoT:CoS instance and the spells cloned from WC3 Inferno (Dreadlord), Metamorphosis (Demon Hunter), Holy Light (Paladin), Starfall (PotM), Tranquility (KotG), Death Pact (DK), Unholy Aura (DK), Blink (which comes originally from the sorceress in Diablo II, then to Eul in RoC DotA, then to the Warden in TFT), Death Coil (DK), Mage portals (Mass Teleport from Archmagi), Force of Nature (KotG), Entangling Roots (KotG), Thorns (KotG), Fan of Knives (Warden), Blizzard (Archmage), Water Elemental (Archmage), Mana Burn (Demon Hunter), Immolation (Demon Hunter, passed to Warlocks in metamorphosis) so on and so on.
Spin off[]
Um... is Wolrd of Warcraft realy a spin off of this game? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lord loss210 (talk · contr).
- Not really, to me they appear to be a continuation. However the name was changed, instead of "IV" they removed the numbers and added the words "World of" before the title, that could be the reason it is considered spin-off; maybe we should chage it to sequel, but I'm not sure. - World of Warcraft is a continuation of Warcraft III, but it is a different genre of game. The term "world of Warcraft" actually predates World of Warcraft, exept it was "...in the world of Warcraft", and not "...in the World of Warcraft". Also, work on World of Warcraft was started before Warcraft III. I am not sure which term to use.--SWM2448 03:09, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
Sixth Race[]
Okay, so we all know the Undead were the 3rd new race, the Night Elves were the 4th, and the Demons were the planned fifth but later were made into a collection of NPCs. But there were six races planned originally (the unnannounced sixth was the first to get cut, before they cut the Demons as the fifth playable race). Did anyone ever figure out what the sixth race was supposed to be? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LordaeronArkham (talk · contr).
- I think it was cut early enough in the development process that nothing was ever announced. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:58, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
- The latest BlizzCast joked that it was the neutral creeps, or at least made up of them.--SWM2448 00:00, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
- Like in the Monolith official map :). However it appears to be an idea Samwise had, it is unknown if it was the sixth anounced race. Other races present in WC3 were the high elves, chaos orcs and corrupted night elves (satyrs) thought I doubt they would have made a race as they are like a derivation of the main races.
- This page try to guess who is that sixth race, but there is appearently no clue.
- Last to note is this video that tells: "...in addition to the orcs and humans, there are four other races including elves who formed an Alliance with the humans and the pesky dwarves..." Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 03:05, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
