Source for Quotes

Is there any reliable source for these quotes? It seems a bit fan-fiction-y, and the editor who included the quotes hasn't done anything on the wiki except for including this "information" on Yogg-Saron's pages. Inv misc orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 10:30, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

The only source for all these are mmo-champion datamined informations. That's why they are deleted every time they were added :) Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 14:32, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
I think that it is true when they say that they found the quotes in the game files, and wen they find a big brain, and 3 rooms who match the sound files in the Ulduar raid.Bundgaard (talk) 22:38, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
The problem is not the accuracy of those quotes or of the encounter's details, it's about the fact that all those are datamined (extracted from the data files) and you are not allowed to post things about a future patch, that are not accessible on PTR, until they come Live.
Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 22:55, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Yay finally got a ingame pic of him :D —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vthetouch (talk · contr).

First-Kill, less than 24 hours.

Think it worth mentionning, Ensidia killed him and is apparently the official first kill in 25 player mode. Screenshot . Mili-Cien(Talk)

  • Not sure that needs to be the second sentence on the article. IMO as more information becomes available that info needs to get moved to the bottom (and probably as a citation). teni (talk) 19:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Considerating that this was suposed to be trivial content, it took way too long Azahel (talk) 16:22, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

With magtheridon/EU down for more then seven hours of those 24, and lagging a lot of the time, I don't really think it is. The newly buffed hardmodes thou.. Well it will be interesting --Dacci (talk) 22:21, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Death quote?

We sure that's correct? I notice the screenshot with dead Yoggy doesn't include his actual death quote in the shot. Though I'm quite possibly wrong, I've heard the datamined files and it sounds to me more like: "Your fate is sealed! The end of days is finally upon you, and all who inhabit this miserable little seedling!", though it could be either. Seems to make more sense as well. Can anyone dig up an actual screenie? --Nihil Morari (talk) 16:24, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

"His brood"

I believe Yogi is referring to Black Dragonflight and not the Blue. Neltharion was corrupted by the Old Gods; Malygos just went crazy. --Tyrsenus t c 19:11, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Malygos' brood was decimated by Neltharion's Creation, which he created when "The Tree" gave him the idea. Neltharion's brood was decimated later on, when battling against all his brethren.
Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 19:52, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
It would still be referencing the Blue Dragonflight, because Malygos was the one who most supported the creation of the dragon soul, only to be later betrayed by the Blacks--Saphiredragon89 (talk) 16:13, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Yogg-Saron is dead when you leave him. His death quote refers to the fact that the Titans will come after the call of Algalon and wipe out Azeroth.
Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 22:10, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Not necessarily, according to the Tribunal of Ages dialogue, the Titans imprisoned the Old Gods because they were unable to kill them without destroying Azeroth in the process (although it's possible that their imprisonment weakened them enough to make them safely killable, that someone will find a way to save Azeroth from the collateral damage caused by their deaths, or that killing them would merely risk Azeroth's destruction rather than guaranteeing it). -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 22:49, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I was not speaking of Lore here. I spoke in WoWwiki. A mob you fight and kill, and when targeted is named "dead" is Killable. A mob you fight and who then surrender is Defeatable.
Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 22:57, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm not saying he's not killable, I'm just pointing out that there are at least two possible interpretations of his death quote: one involving the possible consequences of his death and one involving Algalon. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:06, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Who is this Sara lady anyway? Is she a projection of Yogg-Saron? A servant of his? She looks kind of like a vyrkyl. Does anyone know what she is supposed to be? Does she get possessed by Yogg-Saron in phase 2 or was she planning to betray us all the time? --Darkling235 17:22, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

"She" is Yogg-Saron in humanoid form. --g0urra[T҂C] 17:23, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Do we meet her before this? I mean is there some build up to why we're helping her or why she says she's standing in that big saronite pond? Or is it just the lady is being menaced by the monsters lets help? Kind of odd that Yogg-Saron would want us to kill Faceless Ones anyway. --Darkling235 17:27, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

It might have made more sense if Sara had appeared early on in the dungeon and perhaps guided players along in hopes to lure them into her (his) prison. Sara gives several "buffs" to the raid that act as a double edged sword, e.g. increases spell power, but deals shadow damage over time, etc. It's still unclear what the relationship between the Faceless and Yogi is anyways. They appear to be defending him, but for unknown reasons. It's possible that they (like the Scourge) are reliant upon Saronite which Yogi produces. On the other hand, Yogi may see them as merely expendable protection. --Tyrsenus t c 19:43, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Judging by the quotes, I'd say it's some kind of "give in to your anger" thing, i.e. Yogg-Saron is trying to make the assailants more vulnearble to his psychic powers by sending them into mindless rage. Inv misc orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 07:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Lich King: I will break you as I broke him.

I have not seen the visions myself but could the "him" be refering to Arthas? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by A7777777122 (talk · contr).

Why not... The Act III of the storyline would maybye tell us more about that.
Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 22:31, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
It's not Arthas he's referring to. That's all I'll say here to avoid spoiling people. --Tyrsenus t c 19:22, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Too late to avoid spoiling: The Fate of Bolvar...
Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk) 19:29, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Confused. You mean he should say to the prisoner "I will break you as I broke you."? Why would he say "I will break you as I broke him" in refrence to to the very guy he's talking too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by A7777777122 (talk · contr).
Sign your posts, please. It's probably Bolvar, because there is no more Arthas Menethil, his heart exploded on N [80] Tirion's Gambit. Pudim17 (talk - contr) 20:23, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Who says the vision is of current events? The other two were far in the past, there's every reason that this could be as well. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:34, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

The name of the person being tortured is 'Immolated Champion' so that really narrows down the possibilities of who it can be. In the vision there is another person also who does not talk and is likely Saurfang (who is the him being referred to). Leviathon (talk) 23:13, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Yogg-Saron enrage spell

After having it experienced once I can safely say that Extinguish All Life is Yogg-Saron's enrage spell.

Windows mosaics

Could those two mosaics be boss depictions ?

File:Descent into Madness 04.jpg as General Vezax with its face and claws ?

File:Ulduar Mosaic Window.jpg as Yogg-Saron with the head of Sara on it ?

IconSmall Hamuul.gif Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 20:34, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

I must admit, the depiction of that "baby" head over that "tentacle" body is somehow, creepy... They should add a boss with a dead baby head on top of it to creep people out, like John Romero did in Doom II final boss, pfff. On the other hand, why they would "decorate" the prison of their master with stained glass windows depicting a bug-like monster (maybe Vezax was meant to possess maws instead of a squid face?) and adding one with a tentacle with a baby-head over it? This cult really should check their priorities before going into such vanities. No offense but resembles very little to a vrykul, at least not an adult one, but still can hint people to think that this vykrul they found is actually the boss in disguise, and yet why, weren't the Val'kir created or promoted into it by the Lich King himself? Did Yogg'Saron promoted her or did she came to kill him but turned in an apt powerful minion to control and lead the raids to their demise? I just love people who notices these oddities in the background of the rooms their enter instead of going straight forward into the killing and leave *thumbs up* --IconSmall ForestTroll Male.gif Ravenore , the Necroshadowmancer 17:21, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I also found out that the first stained glass looks more like this still unused datamined UndeadNerubianBeast in features than Vezax itself.--IconSmall ForestTroll Male.gif Ravenore , the Necroshadowmancer 18:24, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Going with the art idea, I think File:Ulduar Mosaic Window.jpg seems more like the person/child is inside (or perhaps controlling, metaphorically) the body of the tentacle. Food for thought. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 5:55 PM, 19 Jul 2009 (EDT)

Alone in the darkness exploit

Should we drop Exodus from doing the world first of Alone in the Darkness since they used an exploit? I believe we should but would like a second opinion.--Saphiredragon89 (talk) 03:08, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Maybe an historical note with a link leading to Official statement of Exodus on Yogg-Saron Zero Watcher ?
IconSmall Hamuul.gif Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 09:30, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

I was the original person who added the note about insane players not being rezed after death because they would go insane again immediately. However this was later removed by someone who declared it to no longer be the case, now I noticed that the same notes (exact same at that) have been added further down the article stating not to rez players that have gone insane, so which is true? This is a vital mechanic to the fight and needs to be confirmed.--Saphiredragon89 (talk) 20:52, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

What you first wrote was true, I removed it because during a try, I rebirthed someone and as I read "rezed people will become mad", I removed it.
Next week or so, I rez someone with no sanity and so I become insane instantly.
I came back here and read again, it was "rezed people with sanity left". So I readed your whole line.
By bad so, I will learn to read I promise!
IconSmall Hamuul.gif Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 21:07, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
No prob at all, at least it's confirmed.--Saphiredragon89 (talk) 22:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

10-Man Yogg-Saron overtuned?

I have heard raiders complaining that the developers have overtuned Yogg-Saron's fight in 10-man Ulduar, yet I heard the fight was easier in 25-man Ulduar. Is this true or not? Gerale (talk) 06:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Druid shapeshifting while grabbed by a constrictor tentacle.

"Squeeze — Grabs a nearby enemy and inflicts 7500 Physical damage every second. Also cancels druids' forms. "

"Druids drop out of their form when constricted, this is particularly dangerous for Bear tanks. "

I was today on Yogg ( patch 3.2.2 ) , and i have been able to shapeshift in Bear form while already grabbed by a constrictor tentacle. I was on humanoid form before being grabbed, but i suppose that constrictor do not anymore cancel forms att all. I think an update will be good on this point. Any video with the visions?

Is it actually so that no one have recorded a vision of either

  • The Tortured Champion vision
  • The Forging of the Demon Soul vision
  • The Assassination of King Llane vision?

I haven't made the Yogg-Saron encounter, but since I love the lore, I feel left out! :< Merala (Talk) 01:54, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Keeper reset

I don't know when they changed it (I'm guessing probably in Patch 4.0.1, since, IIRC, that's the patch which switched from raid ID based raid lockouts to character based raid lockouts), but in any case, it is now possible to return the keepers to the Observation Ring by doing an instance reset. I just tested it a few hours ago. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 10:32, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
