- Arthas Menethil is walking up the long, spiraling stairs of the Frozen Throne inside of the Throne Chamber. Voices from the memories of the past flood his mind as he ascends.
Uther: ...you are not my king yet, boy!...
- Muradin Bronzebeard: ...forget this business and lead your men home...
- Uther: ...nor would I obey that command even if you were!...
- Arthas: ...damn it, Uther! As your future king, I order you to purge this city...
- Uther: ...have you lost your mind, Arthas?...
- Arthas: ...then I must consider this an act of treason...
- Uther: ...and you've ground it to dust in a matter of days...

- Arthas finally reaches the Frozen Throne, where Ner'zhul's spirit is waiting for him.

- Arthas cries out and shatters the Frozen Throne with one strike from Frostmourne. A terrifying howling sound is heard. The throne chamber itself begins to crumble. Ner'zhul's helm lands at Arthas' feet. Arthas picks it up and slowly dons it, his eyes closed. The helm fits perfectly. Arthas opens his eyes, revealing them to be glowing whitish-blue. He is now one with the Lich King.
- The Lich King: Now, we are one.
- A white blast of light engulfs everything. When it fades, all that is left of the throne chamber is the tall spiral of stairs leading to the Frozen Throne. The Lich King is sitting on his throne, silently lording over his domain.
