The Jade Warlord was a powerful mogu spellcaster.
History[]
After the Great Sundering shattered the land, he sought to conquer Pandaria. When the Monkey King learned of this, he went to the Jade Warlord and told him of a hidden cache of artifacts he found that granted untold power, and demonstrated the truth of his words by showing the incredible feats he could do using [Fu Zan, the Wanderer's Companion]. The Monkey King had done this many times before with other would-be conquerors, and would subsequently lead them to their deaths--such as by walking off a cliff, or into a Shado-pan ambush. This time, however, the tomb he led the Jade Warlord into turned out to contain an ancient store of the Thunder King's knowledge that would grant terrible power to the mogu. Realizing his mistake, the Monkey King battled the Jade Warlord until one of the mogu's errant spells froze them both in jade. Though they could not move, they could still speak to each other. The monks of the Broken Temple believed this to be a fate worse than death for the Jade Warlord.[1]
Ten thousand years later, Anduin Wrynn learned of the Monkey King's resting place as well as an incantation to release him from his imprisonment. Knowing that it would release the Jade Warlord as well, he brought along an Alliance adventurer who promptly slew the newly-awakened mogu.[2]
