The Faithless will never stop their siege, but your efforts have bought us time.
Notes[]
Speak with James:
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you and the sarge. Thanks again.
Is there anything in your pockets?
Private James says: Oh! There's some sort of stone in there.
Vorrik says: That's not just a stone, it's a key. It is one of a set used to contain a great and terrible power.
Vorrik says: Follow me, if you would.
Vorrik says: Long ago, before the sands began to spread, a monstrous C'Thraxxiwarbringer descended upon our lands. He began to slaughter all in his path, troll and sethrak alike.
Vorrik says: It was only through the intervention of our loa that we were spared. Sethraliss sacrificed herself to subdue the C'Thrax, but not before it was able to destroy an ancient pyramid that stood in the center of this land.
Vorrik says: The power unleashed from the destruction was immense. Our land was forever altered.
Vorrik says: The great sageSulthis enlisted the aid of Korthek and I to raise a magical barrier to seal away the fallen C'Thrax. We swore that we would never allow such terror to be unleashed again.
Vorrik says: Korthek grew tired of peace. He turned his back upon the sacrifice of Sethraliss and foolishly seeks to combine the keys and unleash the C'Thrax upon his foes.
Vorrik says: Korthek is insane! He must be stopped!
Sergeant Ermey says: This is dire news. We better go report this to the High Commander.
On complete:
Sergeant Ermey says: It's time we get headed back. Wyrmbane's going to want a full report.
Vorrik says: This key belongs to the first Keeper. His name was Sulthis, and he died at the hands of Korthek.
The camera shifts away from the sanctuary to instead show Mythrax the Unraveler invading ancient Vol'dun. He kills a group of sethrak with his shadow magic before roaring ferociously.
Vorrik says: Long ago, Mythrax the Unraveler descended upon our lands. He slaughtered all in his path, troll and sethrak alike.
The scene changes to a sand-filled chamber below Atul'Aman. Sethraliss strikes the killing blow against Mythrax with her scimitar, but is crushed when the creature's corpse falls on top of her. The camera zooms in on the disc in the back wall, which has sustained large cracks.
Vorrik says: Our loa sacrificed herself to save us from that monstrosity. She struck the C'Thrax down, but not before it was able to destroy the disc at the heart of Atul'Aman.
The scene returns to the Sanctuary of the Devoted.
Vorrik says: After witnessing his destruction firsthand, we knew that something must be done to prevent anyone from raising Mythrax again.
Vorrik, Sulthis, and Korthek are seen creating the magical barrier at Atul'Aman's entrance.
Vorrik says: Although immensely powerful, Sulthis could not create the barrier alone. Korthek and I lent him our aid, and together, we sealed Mythrax within the great pyramid.
Vorrik begins walking to the western part of the sanctuary. Kaja, the player, and Rakera walk with him.
Vorrik says: As the sands continued to spread, Korthek grew hungry for war. He plotted to unearth the C'Thrax and use him as a weapon to conquer the continent.
Warguard Rakera says: A weapon... dis must be what Jakra'zet is after! A C'Thrax...
Bladeguard Kaja says: We need to warn de princess.
Vorrik, Kaja, Rakera, and the player walk into the topmost chamber of the sanctuary.
Vorrik says: Korthek raised an army of like-minded sethrak, and they began to slaughter those who opposed them... Sulthis was the first to fall, but not before safeguarding his key.
