Objective

Enter the Rethban Caverns, reach the first fork, and return to Yorus Barleybrew within the time allowed.

You must not die and release your spirit.

Description

I call my challenge the Rethban Gauntlet. To pass the trial, all you must do is enter the Rethban Caverns, to the first fork, then return here. Easy! Except there are a few wrinkles...

You have to return within an hour.

There are whole heaps of Redridge Gnolls in the way.

Before you start, you have to take a swig of my family's signature drink: Barleybrew Scalder!

So what do you say? The Rethban Caverns are in the foothills north of Lakeshire. Are you ready to run the Rethban Gauntlet?

Notes

• On pickup, you drink the Barleybrew Scalder and gain a debuff that leaves you unable to stand upright for ten minutes:
  •  Barleybrew Scalder — Heats the blood and dulls the nerves.
• On turn-in, Yorus will cheer:
  • Yorus Barleybrew yells: <name> ran the Gauntlet! Three cheers for <name>!

• The Rethban Caverns are in the northwest corner of the zone at ^{[19.6, 27.2]}.
• The easiest way to reach the caverns is to run west of Lakeshire, past Martie Jainrose's garden, then turn right and head north along the mountains. This path avoids most of the gnolls' routes and camps, requiring combat only near the entrance to the caverns.
• Logging out after completing the objective (enter the Rethban Caverns) but before turning the quest in can cause a bug: Upon logging back in the quest will be considered failed, regardless of how much time remained on the timer, and will have to be abandoned and restarted.
