The Theramore deserters are a group of ex-soldiers from the Theramore Guard who deserted their duty for various reasons.
Some of them even stayed behind in town to agitate the local population with propaganda denouncing Lady Jaina Proudmoore and encouraging more Theramore guards to join them. The SI:7 agent Calia Hastings fought against them.[1] Others can be found as mobs in the Dustwallow Marsh and were involved in the burning of the Shady Rest Inn[2] and the kidnapping of King Varian Wrynn.[3]
Captain Captain Garran Vimes sent Lieutenant Caldwell to deal with the deserters at Lost Point and find Paval Reethe.[4]

Speculation[]

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.
|
- Several Theramore deserters are described as ex-Kul Tiras marines and as such it is possible that most deserters are actually followers of Admiral Proudmoore[7] who didn't witness the union of humans and orcs at the Battle of Mount Hyjal.
- Since Lieutenant Caldwell immediately ordered the death of Paval Reethe upon finding him (with the fact that they knew each other),[8] it's possible that Paval knew something about Caldwell, possibly that he was a member or a sympathizer of the deserters.
