The Thing From Beyond was a reflection of you that had a chance to spawn and pursue you when you took combat damage while at a corruption level of 40 or higher. At a corruption level of 60 or higher, if it struck you it would also afflict the Grasping Tendrils snare effect and summon an Eye of Corruption.
