Himself along with other current Blizzard developers used to play Everquest, where Paladin Tanks had at one point become better than Warriors. To Chilton, this was an outrage. Himself and other went on a rampage crashing servers on Everquest ruining gameplay experience for many. As a result that everyone can see in this game, after many of the original devs were gone (it is unknown if they were fired or quit) he was put in charge and the Paladin is now one of the least watched classes in the game. The once fun Retribution talent tree meant for Melee damage, what paladins were originally intended to play, is now tossed aside and not cared for. Tom Chilton

Tom Chilton (aliases Kalgan and Evocare[1]) is a Lead Game Designer at Blizzard Entertainment. He is responsible for "game systems and balance in World of Warcraft, including character classes, combat, items, pvp, auctions, mail system, and world events."[2]

He was previously a lead designer for Origin Systems, the developers of the MMORPG Ultima Online, between its third and fifth add-ons, ending in 2003.[3] He holds a degree from the University of Arizona.[4]
