The Tomb of Sargeras is a raid instance released on June 20, 2017. Located on the Broken Shore, the Tomb served as the gateway for the Burning Legion into Azeroth.

Adventure Guide

Aegwynn used this sacred temple of Elune to lock away the defeated Sargeras' avatar. She hoped it would remain dormant, buried deep within the earth, but the lure of power has continued to draw foul entities to this site. When Gul'dan re-entered the tomb, he tore down Aegwynn's wards and opened a doorway for the Legion to invade. Now, the fel army tears at the vault, hoping to reclaim their master's power.

Getting there

The instance line is at ^[63, 22] at the north end of the Broken Shore on the southwestern side of the exterior Tomb of Sargeras.

Solo walkthrough

Zone in, run north, ignore the trash, get to the glowing bubble in the center of the arena and wait for the knockback. Defeat the trash that spawn, then Goroth when it becomes attackable. Keep pushing north to the Conclave of Torment and defeat the Demonic Inquisition encounter (the two bosses share health). Interact with the Hammer of Khaz'goroth in the center of the arena, then return to the south.

Back in Goroth's room, turn west and jump in the fel-filled hole to head down the Collapse toward Harjatan. After defeating the naga brute, jump down to the east and swim south to run downhill to the southeast down the Abyssal Approach. Defeat Mistress Sassz'ine and pray for luck on the  [Abyss Worm] drop. Interact with the Tidestone of Golganneth then backtrack to roughly ^[65, 67] midway between Hartajan and Sassz'ine and head north up the stairs through the Forgotten Approach and two openable doors to reach the Terrace of the Moon.

Watch out for the glowing purple circles on the ground, as stepping into them will trigger a twenty-second stun! Defeat the three Sisters of the Moon, then take the eastern path just south of the encounter arena to circle around counter-clockwise to the northwest through the Wailing Halls to get to the Engine of Souls and Desolate Host in the Befouled Sanctum.

DO NOT one-shot the Engine of Souls! Defeat the adds in front of it, then knock it down to ~25% or so and let it spawn the Desolate Host.

Defeat the two bosses and interact with the Tears of Elune before leaving. Players should have gotten a message from the Image of Aegwynn: The Pillars of Creation are in place. Return to the Cathedral and I will reveal the ancient secret this temple holds. Return to the southwest, then continue straight southwest to take a shortcut back to the Sisters of the Moon arena.

Jump down and take the west path this time to climb the Apostate's Reach steps on the way back to Goroth's Room. Use either of the Ancient Switches to open the final door back to the Chamber of the Moon and head north once more. There, the Image of Aegwynn will open the pathway behind her revealing steps leading down to the Maiden of Vigilance. Pick up her quest to eventually unlock a raid shortcut after four maiden kills...

Defeating the maiden will activate the elevator in the center of her arena, but she was also standing on a Teleportation Pad that will send players directly to the bottom without having to wait. At the bottom, run north to start some exposition from Kil'jaeden, then the Fallen Avatar encounter. Focus down the Maiden of Valor, then the avatar. Swim north through the fel water and run past Kil'jaeden to teleport to his Legion ship in the Twisting Nether.

The ship is considered outside for mount purposes. Clear through all the trash then run east to the Kil'jaeden encounter. Save cooldowns for the second phase in an attempt to skip the blind portion. Attack him up until he goes immune at 80%, then watch for the purple orbs in the corners. Get in a position that the Rupturing Singularity will knock the player back to the direction of the next singularity, as there will be very little time to run to it. Rinse and repeat until Kil'jaeden lands back in the center, then pop all cooldowns and defeat him before he finishes his cast at 40% health to start the Illidan phase.

After the cutscene, Kil'jaeden's loot is in the Spoils of the Legion's Fall container southeast of Velen, Khadgar, Illidan, and the Image of Aegwynn. The image can teleport players back to the instance line.
