Tonga's Spirit

Tonga Runetotem is a tauren quest giver located near the inn of the Crossroads in the Northern Barrens. He knows the Barrens better than anyone.[2]

He was sent from Thunder Bluff to discover the source of a strange power leaking into the Barrens. Examining the local oases and wildlife, he deduced that the taint must come from the Wailing Caverns.

He also requested the aid of Moonglade to gain control of water and animal poisonings wrecking the northern Barrens ecosystem, coming from the Dreadmist Peak. He then created a curative salve for the sick gazelles from the water and reagents gathered by the adventurer.

After the Cataclysm and the breaking of the Barrens, Tonga continued to study the oases, now with the help of his companions, his eagle and Jerrik Highmountain. He observed the land south of Thunderhead Summit by sending his spirit on the mountain.
