Traveler: The Spiral Path is a World of Warcraft novel continuing the adventures of young Aramar Thorne, son of famous explorer Captain Greydon Thorne, where the first book, Traveler, left off.
Description[]
Twelve-year-old Aramar Thorne's life was turned upside down by the sudden reappearance of his father, Captain Greydon Thorne, who took his son with him on the high seas. After several months aboard Greydon's ship, it was attacked by a deadly band of raiders known as the Hidden, leaving Aram and Second Mate Makasa Flintwill shipwrecked. But of even greater concern are the unanswered questions his father left behind. Who are the Hidden? And what of the strange compass Greydon gave to him - the compass that doesn't point north? Aram and Makasa are on a journey to unravel these mysteries, picking up a few friends - and more than a few foes on their travels. Aram, a once-struggling student in the ways of the world, is now looked to for guidance by his friends as they combat swarms of undead and come face-to-face with the trolls' mysterious gods. Can Aram be the leader his father always believed he could be? Includes 17 all-new illustrations!

Inconsistencies[]
- The book says that the Thousand Needles were flooded by the Great Sea pouring into it, while according to Nyse it was the South Seas.
- Chugara Razorflank, who continued the thorn-weaving of the Razorfen Downs, is stated to have surrendered Razorfen to the Death's Head. This adds more confusion to the unclear story of the Death's Head creation.
- Blackthorn was sacrificing Drella to Amnennar, but no phylactery, from which to summon him, was mentioned.
- In the first book, it is stated that Makasa couldn't save her brothers from the Horde. Here it was revealed that her brothers were killed by the Bloodsail Buccaneers. She probably blames the Horde because the one who killed them was an orc pirate. Alternatively, it could be an oversight.
Notes[]
- The book described the Gordunni ogres' complete and total evacuation of Dire Maul with no mention of the Shen'dralar elves. World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 3 later confirmed that there were no elves by that time as a majority of the elves had been killed in Year 25 by the Horde with the remaining survivors leaving the ruins and entering the forests of Feralas.
- The book was previously stated to be released in November 2017.[1]
- The novel expanded the goblin city of Gadgetzan. Gadgetzan was previously expanded in Mean Streets of Gadgetzan of the Hearthstone canon.
