The Twin Monoliths[1] are the two gigantic mogu statues located in the center of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. They were built long ago by pandaren slaves of the mogu empire under the rule of the Thunder King.[2] Between them once stood the Golden Pagoda which was destroyed when Garrosh Hellscream awakened the Sha of Pride. Feedback from the event destroyed not only the building, but the surrounding areas, heavily damaging the two statues. One of them had within it a secret door to the Pools of Power under Mogu'shan Palace.
At some point later, the Vale of Eternal Blossoms was restored, but the colossal statues remained broken.

- During the early beta on the map, the name "The Twin Monoliths" appeared on the spot of "The Golden Pagoda".
