Objectives[]

Speak to Vereesa Windrunner to set sail for the Exodar.

  • Set sail for the Exodar

Description[]

The Tomb of Sargeras was only the beginning. If we do not destroy the Legion utterly, they will return even stronger.

We will travel to Azuremyst by sea to avoid drawing unnecessary attention. The less time the Legion has to react to our assault, the better.

Just say the word when you are ready to depart.

Rewards[]

You will receive: 1g 94s

Progress[]

Set sail for the Exodar
I don't care what horrors lie on Argus. If there is even a chance we find Alleria there, I am with you.
Gossip I'm ready.
A map cut shows the path to Azuremyst Isle. On the other side, Wind's Redemption has berthed on the left side of the single dock, while the blood elven destroyer The Sunstrider has berthed on the right side. Arator and Vereesa are looking at the Horde ship, but she is standing at the edge of the deck.
Vereesa Windrunner says: Looks like they showed up after all.

Completion[]

May the Light protect us all this day.

Notes[]

  • The original travel map shows the Alliance following a route that takes them northeast between the Maelstrom and the Broken Isles, along the southern coast of Northrend, between Teldrassil and Darkshore, and around the southern coast of Azuremyst Isle before docking on its western bank.
  • The travel map as of patch 10.0.5 shows an altered route that takes new continents into account. Here, the Alliance follows a route that first heads southwest, then northwest between Pandaria and Zandalar, between Kalimdor and the Maelstrom, and finally circling around the northern coast of Kalimdor and to the west. The path from this point forward, however, seems to be mapped incorrectly (see note below).
  • In patch 10.0.5 (and possibly even earlier), there seems to be an error with the travel map that shows the route that the Alliance takes from Stormwind to Azuremyst Isle, as it shows them intersecting the northern coast of Teldrassil, cutting through the southern coast of Bloodmyst Isle and the northern coast of Azuremyst Isle, and finally going out to sea before circling around to the northeast and stopping. In addition to having a ship cut through a landmass, this theory is further reinforced by the fact that both Azuremyst Isle and Bloodmyst Isle are connected by a bridge that would block the path of any warship trying to sail between them. Due to the curvature of the dotted line, and based on the original travel map from the Legion era, it is possible that the route was meant to go around the northern coast of Teldrassil (as opposed to the southern coast during the Legion era) and then around the southern coast of Azuremyst Isle before docking on its western bank.
  • This quest takes the player to an instanced version of Azuremyst Isle.
    • No wildlife or mobs are present, and an invisible wall blocks further progress when following the path in front of the Exodar to the north ([35.73, 42.83]VZ-Azuremyst IsleBlip) and to the west ([36.58, 46.89]VZ-Azuremyst IsleBlip), and when leaving the path and heading south about 115 yards ([31.27, 52.72]VZ-Azuremyst IsleBlip). Hunters can bypass the wall to a certain extent and explore by using Ability hunter eagleeye Eagle Eye.
    • The Vindicaar can be seen in the air in front of the Exodar.
    • Similar to the non-instanced version of Azuremyst Isle, flying is not permitted. Flying mounts can still be used, but they are restricted to ground travel.

Trivia[]

  • The name of this quest is a reference to the American Revolutionary War, when Robert Newman was tasked with alerting the colonial militia of the arrival of British forces in 1775 just prior to the Battles of Lexington and Concord. He was instructed to hang lanterns in the steeple of the Old North Church in Boston, MA to indicate their method of arrival: "One if by land, two if by sea." The British arrived by sea, so Robert hung two lanterns.
