The kingdom of Lordaeron is the undead kingdom[2] of the Forsaken led by Sylvanas Windrunner, current Warchief of the Horde. It is also referred to as an undead[3] empire.[4][5] As this is considered a new kingdom,[6][7] it succeeds the fallen human kingdom of Lordaeron.

By the time of the Darkspear Rebellion the kingdom included Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, and Hillsbrad Foothills.[8]

After the fall of the human kingdom of Lordaeron, the Scourge and the demons of the Burning Legion held the ruined kingdom. Following the defeat of the Legion at the Battle of Mount Hyjal, Arthas Menethil returned to Capital City and proclaimed himself king of the empire.[9] Sylvanas and the dreadlords betrayed Arthas who had to leave for Nortrhend. Sylvanas then worked to dismantle the demon forces, killing Detheroc and Balnazzar and capturing Ruins of Lordaeron. At that moment, Sylvanas proclaimed her undead followers to be known as the Forsaken and ordered them to establish a new empire in the Undercity.

Initially, Sylvanas and her rebel Forsaken held only the Tirisfal Glades, a small portion of the war-torn kingdom.[10] By the time the Forsaken joined the Horde, the Forsaken expanded into Silverpine Forest and Hillsbrad Foothills where the battles for dominance were fought among still living natives or other creatures.

During the Cataclysm, the Forsaken war machine took Silverpine Forest, Gilneas, which they left plagued,[11] and major Alliance holdings in Hillsbrad Foothills.

The Forsaken also have a significant presence in the Plaguelands[12] since they decimated the Alliance in Andorhal. Small undead groups also expanded into the Hinterlands and Arathi Highlands with the latter being lost to the rebellious Galen Trollbane and his undead followers by the time of the Burning Legion's third invasion. As of the demonic invasion, Alliance still has a minor force on the fingers of Hillsbrad Foothills (Legion Invasions, may or may not be a developer mistake).

Following Sylvanas' becoming the Warchief of the Horde and the Legion's fall, the inhabitants of the Undercity have formed a governing body to tend to the population's needs.[13]

During the start of the Fourth War, the kingdom would ultimately come under attack from the Alliance...

The united tauren tribes[1] or Mulgore Tauren are the tauren tribes living in Mulgore under the leadership of Baine Bloodhoof and serving the Horde. They were united after the Third War by Cairne Bloodhoof when they established their home in Mulgore.

It was his vision of a peaceful home for all tauren tribes that led to the unification of the formerly disparate race. Concerned about the rising threat of viscous centaur tribes, Cairne sought to establish a home for all tauren tribes in the land of Mulgore. Although Cairne welcomed all tribes in the newly established capital of Thunder Bluff, Elder Crone Magatha Grimtotem of the Grimtotem tribe often butted heads with the high chieftain, believing she should lead the tauren.[2]
