Tirsifal Glades... phased?

Would you put a bit more description to how Tirsifal Glades has any phasing effects? Undercity, I'm kinda familiar with the phasing there. ... though I bet THAT could use description as well. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:50, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

It's part of the Undercity event after the Wrathgate. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:35, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps I'm confusing Tirsifal with Silverpine. Not territory I venture into frequently. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 01:11, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

"Those were the days.." How long have you been playing World of Warcraft?

I only got into it because my roommate (I'm in college) was playing it, and I used to play RuneScape from 2001 to 2008, and recently quit. So I went out and purchased the WoW Battle Chest and WotLK.

One and a half months later (today) I'm making World of Warcraft videos for YouTube. How time flies... :P

You're Input

Hey Coobra, as the title suggests, I came here for you're input on something.

A few moments ago, I created a new page Choosing a race. This page includes all the Racial Traits in the Game for All Races as a part helping people choose a race.

So, I was thinking that the Racial trait mine as well just get redirected to that page. Because a page dedicated solely to racial traits seems a bit unnecessary to me when all the racials are listed on a different page.

Anyways, I just wanted you're input on this idea. I come to you since you seem to always help me out =D. So when you get a chance, tell me what you think. TeeSon5 (talk) 03:59, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Doesn't work like that, however, you could condense the racial trait info at Choosing a race and use {{main|<Racial trait>}} just below the header. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 04:08, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
Alright I'll get right on that TeeSon5 (talk) 12:01, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Deletion Requests

Hey, it's me again; that guy that just makes you're life harder ;P

Anyways, I just want to direct you're attention to a few Speedy Delete request pages.

Category:Articles for speedy deletion explained -- Some things in here are somewhat recent, some are somewhat old. I'll let you browse whats in there and take actions based on you're own thoughts. I added a few things in here just recently.

On a more important note, Category:Miscellany for speedy deletion explained. I've been browsing the Category:Unused images by my understanding, if a picture is unused for at least 10 days after the Possible Deletion banner is up, it should be replaced with a Speedy Delete request and it should mention that the picture is abandoned. I've just gone through all these pictures about 5 minutes ago and I think I added at least 10 pictures for Speedy Delete.

I know it's nothing big, I just wanted to direct you're attention onto those two pages so that some some deleting can start happening.

As always, Happy Hunting! TeeSon5 (talk) 02:49, November 17, 2009 (UTC)

Yes yes; I apologize about that. Allow me to explain, when I first added the FAQ and saved, I went back to clean it (didn't notice the issue in the preview) and then it said it was already edited but I did not know by whom or why. It wasn't until after I double posted it that I saw it was you and the reason behind it. So, sorry about that little confusion there; it's not going to happen again.

On a similar note, how come the page Night Elf Mohawk is marked with NPC stub? I'de like to fix it.

Again, my apologies TeeSon5 (talk) 22:31, November 17, 2009 (UTC)

"Night Elf Mohawk‎ is stubbed cause it's missing information, such as its ID (fixed by Amberrock), and several(just one now) missing coords for his locations." -- Coobra

Fixed =D Actually, no other websites I looked on (Wowhead, Thottbot, Forums) had the information for Azuremyst (the missing one)... so I spent a little time looking for it myself in game

Apparently nobody loves Azure enough to check ;P

Sorry for bringing my questions to you; but thats only because I envy you so much ;D

My question is, how do I add/change a licence on a picture that is either unlicensed or improperly licensed so I can properly licence it. I ask this because I find a few pictures that are not or improperly licensed and I want to fix em up. TeeSon5 (talk) 01:07, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

By simply editing the page, if for example the image is a Mob marked as an Item turn {{Licensing|Item}} to {{Licensing|Mob}}. For more listings see Wowpedia:Images policy/Licensing. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 02:18, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Cost template

You'd mentioned (to Hans Kamp) that Costitem was the thing to use for everything non-gold. Your comment implied that even non-gold "currencies" like Emblems of Triumph were being converted to {{costitem}}. I find no such expansion under either template, or on either talk page. Nor do I see a forum topic that clearly describes such a change. Could you point me to where that's being talked about? Or perhaps your comment was overbroad? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 17:58, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

From what I understood, the point of {{costitem}} was so {{cost}} wouldn't have to be updated anymore and thus cause a large workload to the wiki, since its practically used on 85% of the articles here. Midsummer Fire Festival quests

I've got a screenshot of N [1-60] Unusual Activity in my quest log (10/25/09) that shows it to be in a grouping "Midsummer". I note that one of your changes last year was to put it in the "Midsummer Fire Festival" category. While I don't have screenshot proof that all the fire festival quests should (by category naming convention) be under "Midsummer", it's a fair bet. Would you object to a renaming of the category (and the moving of its contents)? Do you have the ability to do so (comparably) painlessly? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:06, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Pcj created the category itself; I've directed him here as well. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:10, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
Midsummer Fire Festival is fine, we are not limited to the quest log categories, it's simply the common use of that field in {{questbox}}. --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 23:26, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Common use forms convention. Note, though, that the documentation for the template disagrees with your statement. One of you should conform to the other.
I've also seen a template with an optional parameter explicitly to add usefully named categories to a page. This might influence your choice. I would agree that "Midsummer quests" and "Midsummer Fire Festival quests" would probably be identical. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 01:02, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Guide to Bank Alts Talk Page

I have a few comments to you're comment on this page: 2 of them being Questions. First question is; are you, basically, voting to Keep the page? If so, how come you didn't mark it as a vote? Question two; does this mean you're removing the poll from this page? Now for my response: You state that people may not know what a Bank Alt is. Well, theres a page that talks about what an Alt is, and theres a page that talks about what a bank is. So, I think anybody with brain waves and a pulse can figure put 2 and 2 together and get 4. Secondly, a page discussing a bank alt is different from a Guide as to which one to make. Unless I read the article wrong, theres about 2 sentences describing what exactly a Bank Alt is, and then the rest of the article just talks about what race/class to make it and why (with few other details. Unless you want a page that just has a 2 sentence description about a bank alt, there really isn't a point for this. My suggestion, however, is maybe to make a 2 point Subsection on both the Alt page and the Bank page with those 2 sentences that describe bank alts. TeeSon5 (talk) 21:09, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

You've made your opinion known, and I've made mine. I don't plan to vote either way for the article, and the voting isn't removed just cause of my opinion. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:15, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Alright, one other thing though, just to be clear. If the poll turns out that the deletion requests win, are you still obligated to terminate the article even though you personally disagree? TeeSon5 (talk) 21:20, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

At least you're trying... however, the max limit size of images is 500kb. If an image is over the limit, and especially if its fan art, you should try to bring it down to the max limit trying to keep it as close to the original state as possible. Maps are going to be big, there's no avoiding that, but resizing the image to be barely readable just so its under the 500kb file limit is not the answer. Hello Coobra. Got a question for you. As I'm looking at the Aspirant's Ring page I'm noticing that there are a few subzones at the bottom of the page that are red. Would it be safe to say that we could use those pages as redirects to their respective main pages or would they become a new page entirely? There are a lot of good user pages on wikias (most notably, this one) and I tried to understand the tutorials-but I still need help. I'd like if you could help me learn to make a page like - for example - Tyriar's page. Even yours! Thanks.--Reavijinoo (talk) 01:46, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, lol. I just looked through the source of Kaydeethree's talk page and figured it out. For the user templates just look at the user templates category. Yea, the tutorials aren't always the best, you can usually learn a lot by copying other user pages and designing it differently to make it your own. Stranglethorn Hidden Area

Hey thanks for messaging me, didnt see it til just now.

How much of that content is DNP ?

i thought itd be okay to post as there are loads of articles about other 'inaccessible areas' and a whole category called 'closed zones', doesnt this fall into that category?

After all, there are articles about GM Island and all sorts of other things that 'shouldn't be revealed'.

Please reply with speed (more speedily than your deletions), thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BanthaFodder (talk · contr).

I'm sensing a little impatience... I'm going to say it was all DNP. The current zones in the closed zones category contains places that are flown over, have some background, or found on the map... the official map, not sections of a zone that require exploits to get to. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 06:19, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Apologies for the impatience, i have to leave for work in 10minutes. I am also not trying to be rude, or brash, if i come across that way.

I thought I'd make the article for others to look at and update, to let me know what its purpose is. Is it part of a flyover, I can't recall if it is or isn't. Id understand removing any information explaining how to reach it, but at least a few screenshots and some writing explaining it exists wouldn't be bad, my curiosity is piqued by how detailed that area is.

Is it possible to get a second opinion about this matter? That'd be appreciated, though I see you are an admin with a high editing count and contribute to this wikia alot.

I must run now, I'll read your response later. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BanthaFodder (talk · contr).

Considering that area that it is, I highly doubt a flightpath goes over it. So the only way to get info about it and screenshots of it would be through exploits. Having found the value for at least one of the "was 250 rep, what is it now" quests, have you been going down the line and upping rep via the XXX faction quests categories? Or just hitting the ones you caught directly? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:17, December 15, 2009 (UTC)

While most of the quests have just been increased by 30%, there have been a few greatly increased by more. So I'm not sure if we should just go through all of them and add 30% or wait and have them confirmed. I've been mostly updating the ones I've seen directly (usually its the dailies) but I have been updating the quest pages based off of some users that update the main faction's page. Hey I'm really confused and trying to report a vandal and for some reason I can not add the name to the list. Seems user: Chris86 154 is going around and changing pages on wowwiki based on the question for the 12 days of Grunty on Each day they ask a question and now this user is coming on here and changing the pages so people will answer incorrectly therefore upping his chance to win. Can you help me in reporting this user and stopping him from continuing. Today's question is in regards to Thrall's orc name. Yesterday's was about Falric. Both have been reverted back but I don't think this will stop him. Thanks a ton. ~Moondrely

Hi. While i could maybe agree that my PNG was a duplicate of the existing JPG (which incidentally doesn't mention where it's from...), it by no means could've been superseded by it! Actually, it would be more like the other way around, considering which formats are lossless and which aren't. Why the speedy? -- Napoleon 9th (talk) 17:06, December 23, 2009 (UTC) PS Is the watermarked copyright notice something that most of our pics should actually contain?

It's either duplicate or superseded, take your pick, doesn't have to be both. The copyright notice watermark is part of the image. It would actually break copyright by having it removed just for it to "look" nice. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 19:38, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

As for the icons...

I agree better versions would be nice, but i only uploaded them after i could not find anything i could've used. And they're 100% Blizz-like, so i'm not sure what more is there to do. Except maybe adding the nice button border around? -- Napoleon 9th (talk) 17:43, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

Tooltip screwing up

Hey, got a few questions on some issues:

  • I was creating the new ICC items, since half of them are missing, but after creating the first one (which worked fine), the following tooltips would keep appearing on the left side of the page for no reason, such as:  [Abomination Knuckles]
  • Also, if you look at the normal item here, the part where it says For the heroic version of this item see [Abomination Knuckles]. just doesn't work (it's supposed to link it to the heroic version). Any idea?
  • Is there any fast way to find an icon for tooltips? Where do I find them?

Gul'dan's affiliation

your answer to yourself made me rofl, I was about to answer you something like "he was the de facto leader of the horde, which, in my eyes, means that he is part of it and blabla", but heh, it doesn't matter anymore

now I just had to tell you it made my night :D

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Guyomeprime (talk · contr).

I believed that Horde and Alliance Icons where made for the actual Horde and Alliance, as they can be seen in-game.
We say Ner'zhul, Kargath, zul'jin, and Zuluhed neutral, why would gul'dan be horde? and why arthas menethil is not alliance? those people have long since stopped to serve their original faction for their own goals.
IconSmall Hamuul.gif Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 12:14, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
The way I am seeing it, it is more: the faction a character was affiliated with the last time we saw him/before his (actual)death as it was at that time.
For exemple, Blackhand and Kilrogg Deadeye were afilliated with the same Horde as Gul'dan, and they are still categorized as Horde.
But now, thinking about it, my point and your's, gul'dan wasn't so much a Horde as he was his own faction the few hours before dying. I guess you would be right to consider neutral then.

How do u start a vote? the wiki pages instructions make no sense to me, sorry to trouble you about it, but i also think that the icons bring attetion the broken race code that was on the npc boxes, they wouldnt show up because it was race instead of races which shows the race correctly in the box. @*~#NOAHORDE#~*@ (talk · contr)

It has come to my attention that we are lowercasing races, classes, etc. in areas that should not be lowercased, i.e. infoboxes and tables. We should be having things like "Blood Elf" and "Death Knight" written as such when outside of a sentence. Blizzard has been capitalizing outside of sentences for... I actually can't think of a time when it did not. For example: Level 54 Night Elf Priest; Available to: Night Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Tauren, Trolls, Blood Elves, Draenei. [1] Ability rogue shadowstrikes.png Sebreth (T.C) 10:40, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

/shrug, You could bring this up at the forums, but I think it really doesn't matter. When it comes to the infoboxes most of the races/class are one word anyway and should be capped, however, if it involves a second word most races capped form is a redirect to the main page, but not all. So for consistency it would just be best to have the second word in lower case form. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 00:24, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Question about deleting old images ...

First off, thank you for the warm welcome. I'm new to this whole process but would like to help better the wiki in any way I can. The first thing I noticed when updating old images was that the old one remained and I was unsure how to delete it. After reading up on the speedydelete function, I still have a question. How do I target a specific image for the speedy delete? If I just mark the whole image's page, will both images be deleted? Just a little clarification would be helpful. Once I understand, I will continue to help with this site and be as clean as is expected.JeremiahJohnson (talk · contr)

You deleted my addition on the Skinning page. I'm sure you know better, but a link proving it would be nice. In my experience so far nothing below a level 5 can be skinned. This is the experience of other users on my Realm.

Enigbo (talk) 00:23, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

I can personally confirm from experience that mobs below level 5 can be skinned, although they very rarely yield anything but scraps. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:29, January 12, 2010 (UTC)
There was apparently a change with Patch 3.2. Have you recently (for extended versions of 'recently') verified that you could skin non-critters level 1-4? I recall having skinned critters, back when. I'm not so sanguine about skinning anything in the starting zones, though. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 00:45, January 12, 2010 (UTC) states point-blank now that, "Beasts in the immediate starting area can't be skinned," though they neglect to mention when this limitation came into effect. Page here -
I've personally been unable to skin a level 1 Diseased Wolf in Elwynn Forest, but then this is my first skinning character so this may be nothing new. -- Enigbo (talk) 00:50, January 12, 2010 (UTC)
I personally don't like additions to an article, where the addition comes with a fact check. I.E. 'I add this' but I'm also going to ask for a fact check. If you yourself don't know it to be true... ask on the talk page. EDIT: Starting areas are also different than normal areas, things that happen there are for a reason.. can't skinn those mobs, cause you won't have learned skinning by then, and they don't want higher level players farming them preventing new players from questing. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 01:19, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Just skinned a level 5 wolf in mulgore, but when I went inside the starting area even level 5s were unskinnable. And yea, it seems critters can't be skinned anymore, though that might have been changed a long time ago.. I rarely bother skinning critters, unless starting a new skinner... probably why they changed it for that reason alone. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 02:20, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

"I personally don't like additions to an article, where the addition comes with a fact check." Fair enough, it smacks of sloppiness. But at the foot of the FAQ on the Skinning page is the following:
'It also seems now, with Patch 3.2 that Critters that were once able to be skinned (such as Rabbits and Deer) may no longer be skinned, though this was not in the original patch notes.'
How about we add back my edit but simply word it as above, without the fact check tag? Sometimes, citations just aren't possible. By the way, my "Edit Summary" for that edit had a typo, and said that level 5's couldn't be skinned when I meant to say "under level 5's." Have you personally recently tried skinning under level 5? BTW, I've searched the patch notes from 3.1.3 onwards and not a mention of the changes to skinning critters or under 5s. -- Enigbo (talk) 07:15, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Coobra, this is Pwnerpwner, the user who attempted to upload an image of a small island to the southwest of Gilneas. I became interested when you contested the fact it was, in fact, Zul'Dare, but, unfortunately, still do not side with your logic. By lore, Zul'Dare is its own large island, nestled in Baradin Bay and large enough to hold an entire Horde camp and enough bush to keep them virtually undetectable by the Alliance for a short while, the Baradin Bay in game will not have enough space to comfortably hold both it and the impending PvP zone Tol Barad. The maps below show this, considering that Gilneas will have a larger eastward expansion and take on a rounder shape in the second.

As you can see, the Zul'Dare pictured here is rather larger than the one in the concept map, boasting a size of about that of the northerly Purgation Isle. Unfortunately, this still stands to prove that the narrowing strait between Tol Barad (which lies directly south of Southshore) could not hold the Zul'Dare of lore. This is why I argue that my image was either of Zul'Dare, or that Zul'Dare will not appear in Cataclysm.

Pwnerpwner (talk) 00:06, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

That first image you linked ( would have been better to use, it makes it look like Zul'Dare is possibly there... but an image of a "fort" and bridge to a small overlook did not. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 00:25, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

I'm still going to bet that that island is Zul'Dare, but I will hold off uploading another image until a cleaner, better scaled one comes out. Pwnerpwner (talk) 00:49, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Check User rights

Hello, The Wikia Community team has agreed give you checkuser access, so I can switch this on for you as soon as I know you have both read and understood this message. Please let me know if there are any language problems or parts you don't understand. We rarely give checkuser rights to users, so when we do we need them to be used /very/ responsibly. That means that they should only be used when abuse is suspected, and never out of curiosity or for fun.

Mostly an IP doesn't give you much personal information – just a general location and the name of an Internet provider. But sometimes an IP can give information such as the name of a user's school. So you need to be very careful about what you pass on to others. You may need to expose an IP because you need to block it, but you should always be careful about the decisions you make. If you aren't sure whether to give out private information, then don't!

Remember that checkuser does not tell you who was sitting at a computer, and it is possible for there to be a coincidence of two people on the same IP at different times – or even one person stealing someone else's wireless! It's important to be aware of the possibilities, and to be careful as you interpret results. Remember, you can always get second opinion from each other or from staff.

So please remember to only use checkuser where there is abuse, and to be careful in interpreting the results. We will be watching! Please let me know you have read and understood this, and I will give you access to checkuser.

Thanks for all your work here! Best, --Sarah (talk 18:26, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

Error Pages?

Hi Coobra! I have a question, as I am fresh at WowWiki. Are there pages related to errors, crashes, etc.? I was about to create a page on the Black Screen error, but I wasn't sure if it was allowed or if it was already made. Oh and I did use the search feature :) I am asking because I sort of expected someone to make a page or two on errors by now. Thanks! Cgseif323 (talk) 02:17, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so. Only thing I see is WoW Constants/Errors. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 02:52, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Second opinion

I value a second opinion on this. A number of fireworks, and the launchers, are both Engineered, and highly related to the Lunar Festival. Options are: no change; add Lunar Festival category; add Lunar Festival header. I'm not sure the festival header is correctly descriptive, but since other very similar fireworks are festival-only (and which I've Headered), it would also seem strange for the header to not be on them. Thus: opinion? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:55, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

I would say, just the schematics should have the header, since they're only available during the event. The others can have the category, but since they can be crafted year round, I don't find it necessary. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! Yesterday I made Duskwood questing guide a redirect to Duskwood quests, since the guide article didn’t exist. It was deleted without comment. Why? Did I violate a rule? Can you point it out to me? I made the redirect because there are red links to that article (for instance here) that I thought would be more useful as links to existing information. —Frungi (talk) 19:29, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

We would rather a red link to show it needs creation, than a false redirect, which may lead to its removal from the main article. Doing something to the article just to make it no longer a red link I believe is against policy. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! image license response

ty, although, i didn't quite know which license to choose for a couple of the pics i added since they weren't technically NPCs, companions, etc. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Falcon457 (talk · contr).

Changing normal links to loot links

Hi, Coobra. I'm seeing many many links around here for quests, abilities, items, NPCs and mobs that could be (IMHO) improved by the profuse use of {{quest}}, {{ability}}, {{loot}}, {{NPC}} and {{Mob}}. However, as I'm still not accustomed to the style of this wiki, I'm not sure if I should do that. I've read almost the whole Wowpedia:Policies, including the Wowpedia:Manual of Style, and haven't found a mention of it one way or another. So I ask you on your quality of experienced user: should I refrain from such changes? Is there any "acepted" amount of such tooltip-triggering links for an article, or can I add as many as I want?. Thank you Scarbrowtalk 20:32, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Couple of things. The first rule of thumb is, only the first reference is made into a link (of whatever sort). {{item}} is often used (mostly because it offers ability to include an image), but {{loot}} is lighter weight and more often used on pages with lots of links to items.
Much beyond that, and it becomes a matter of preference. My own is to not use templates (or template options, better) that insert images in bodies of text, as they tend to break things up for what I see as no particularly good effect. In lists, or on bullet points, not so much a problem.
Make sure you refer to the right thing. Ability links to disambiguation pages are embarrassing. Also, be aware that not all item pages are properly outfitted for use with {{item}}: generally, only the tooltip should be "visible" via <onlyinclude> tags.
I'm sure there are other useful tips I'm forgetting, but... I've forgotten them. ;) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:49, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, one other thing. If the page is long, sometimes I'll link something a second time, Just Because. There's another case for that, though, if you're referring to two separate pages (ie Onyxia, and Onyxia (original) ), where separate links are okay. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:51, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your advice, Eirik. I'm pretty accomplished reading templates, so it seems like Item reads all from the item page, while Loot allows you to specify several details, thus becoming more lightweight as you say. I've also discovered workarounds for {{Mob}} and {{Achievement}} adding inline icons: Using {{NPC|<Name>}} offers just a link with a tooltip, while you can use {{Achievement|<image=hide>|<name_of_achievement>}} to hide the achievement icon and link (I've documented on the template). Please check, any of you, this diff to see an example of what I want to do (and this one for the {{Achievement}} use), and give me your opinions, before I start anything at a bigger scale. Scarbrowtalk 17:57, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
While I haven't really bought in to the "color coded, tooltip generating" style of linkage, I lost that argument shortly after it began. Given that we have 'em, I see no particular flaw with your use, other than the one note on Skeleton keys. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:56, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Reverted Articles

Why do you keep reverting my articles! They be quality! I added Species that were real and you got rid of them. My Lions are sad... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The Awesome Jake Von (talk · contr).

Your articles huh... wrong, these articles belong to the community, not to individual people. As for your edits, you're not adding species or subspecies, you're adding individually named mobs found in certain places. Discontinue this practice. Leviathan Defense Turret

The Mob Leviathan Defense Turret article is still designated as a Stub, as you listed it back in June '09. What more needs to be added to it? A picture, health, location and Achievements are all there, and strategy for dealing with the turrets should be on the main Mob Flame Leviathan page. I'd just like to wrap that article up. Joeartguy (talk) 16:42, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Race. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:36, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
The Leviathan itself is listed as Unknown (Mechanical), and its article not designated as a Stub; that should probably change to Tank (vehicle), though. But the turrets -- the nearest equivalent is the  [Gnomish Flame Turret], which is designated as a "guardian pet". Other turret mobs such as the Ice Turret or battleground turrets have no Race listed. Cannon does not fit this description. Should there be some new designation? Joeartguy (talk) 16:42, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
Why do we need more than "mechanical"? (BTW, I would disagree that Leviathan is a "vehicle", though not that it was a "tank"...) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:05, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Either way, as Joeartguy pointed out... I stubbed it almost a full year ago. I can't remember exact details to as why I might have done something from that long ago... I just assumed it might have been race after looking at it again. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 22:06, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Well, the Tank (vehicle) page lists Flame Leviathan as a named member of its class. But for the Turrets, either there's more to be done, or it's as done as it gets. I'm satisfied with the page as it stands as a complete listing. Coobra, please say what you'd like added and how -- since you put up the Stub, it stays until you take it down. Joeartguy (talk) 20:52, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Red roses

Was working to update a VMware image to the current patch to even take a look at the fool video that guy posted on the bouquet page. I really didn't think there was any point to a video on it, but hadn't gotten the machine patched even yet. ... it was REALLY behind on patches. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 00:41, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

... and having now watched the vid, I would have yanked it in a heartbeat. Pfah! --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 00:46, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
Lol, I just found it silly that someone would even think a video would be needed to explain how to get an item drop from a boss... I didn't even watch it. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 01:25, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Pages that need to be updated?

Hey, sorry I don't edit these pages very often, but I've found myself having more spare time lately and I was wondering if there was a specific page that had a list of articles that needed to be worked on? Whether it'd be grammar/spelling errors, sources needed or additional information, I'd be more then happy to help. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Exsol (talk · contr).

Re: Image

I wasn't; I was under the impression that every page has at least some photo to offer. Alonsus Faol didn't have an image, but I found one from a reliable source. But if it's absolutely necessary, I'll remove the image. Rangerkid51 (talk) 06:07, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

A friend of mine has a deviantArt account with a WoW section to it; he claimed that the image I put up was of Alonsus Faol; but after I did a Bing search, turns out it was Benedictus instead. Rangerkid51 (talk) 06:27, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
No problem, and thanks for the advice.Rangerkid51 (talk) 06:34, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

Outrunners and... stuff

Could I direct your ever vigil gaze on Talk:Alliance Outrunners? Thanks. Also, what should be put on images-files where it's questionable that it is the uploader who have made the image, e.g. drawings and such; file:Corium.jpg. TherasTaneel (talk) 20:30, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I would say Alliance Outrunners could stay because it is an actual title used by four specific mobs in the Barrens (which could change come cata), whereas the Outrunners article is more of a Disambigpage showing all mobs labeled as Outrunners.
As for the images, use {{source needed}} and if the user is still active, go ahead and ask them if they known of the source on their talk page. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:35, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

vandal suspect

Yeah it was just that one definite act of vandalism, but their earlier contributions also looked funky, including removing others' posts from the user's talk page. Considered mentioning that, but I thought it would look odd and maybe even petty, so I hoped the admin reacting would check those, too. Sorry if it came across too strong. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 01:50, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, after making my first comment I went back and saw his previous edits... apparently he has a history of having inappropriate edits and being disrespectful. So I think adding him was fine at this point. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:10, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
