Wow login screens without any UI

Hey, I loved the wallpapers you made from WoW login screens, without the login UI. But I want to know how you actually managed to hide the UI, because i want to record a video of the actual screen (BFA) Thank you again. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Meetchyu (talk · contr).

As explained here, just simply download the folders here and place it into your World of Warcraft install directory. (e.g. World of Warcraft/_retail_/). — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 11:20, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Classic realms list. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 17:04, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
that is awesome bro, one thing though, could we have the dates of realms launching? thankyou friend —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xeexeegg (talk · contr).
Most of which are going to take time to figure out the date when the realm launched. Feel free to be bold and add the information to the article. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 17:21, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
only thing left now is to add europe realm dates and we have done a excellent job! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xeexeegg (talk · contr).
Hi last comment from me, one last thing to say could you put the english speaking realms dates please https://wow.gamepedia.com/Classic_realms_list thankyou —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xeexeegg (talk · contr).
I've got a lot on my plate right now. Though you can become an editor yourself, be bold and start by digging for that information then adding it to the article! I'd recommend checking out the Help Wiki that contains a lot of useful information on editing wikis of which can help you with that article. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. As a side note, when making comments on talk pages (such as my talk page you're on right now), you'd want to sign your comment with four tildes (~~~~). — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 21:17, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Hey mate

Account name

heya, I think something's messed up... do you know what should I do or who to contact regarding the account name change? Morderi was my fandom name which I very rarely used, and I'd like to get my old name back. Or are you able to change it? --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 17:41, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

did you try to log in via twitch ? (Yuvalal (talk) 19:23, 6 August 2020 (UTC))
I can't do anything account related. Submit a ticket. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 19:37, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Relogged via twitch and still that name. Ok will try the ticket. Ta --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 20:09, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Heya, any news with the rename thingy?

After the recent migration, User:Mordecay lost all the content that was on the page. I contacted the gamepedia support, and they said that the account is deleted. Do you know if the content can be somehow recovered? I noticed a file that was on the page still shows up as being linked there. Do you know if moving User:Mordecay to User:Morderi would make the content appear? HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 08:55, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Nothing as far as I know. User articles that exist on a non-existent account name is a known issue but they can be recovered. I've moved all your pages over to the new name (with redirects). Once you get your old name back, they all can be moved back just fine. Hopefully sooner than later; I've kept note of this. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 09:14, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
Okay, cool, thanks! HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 09:51, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Css

One more question, is it possible for me to display this in the search results? Change the "About 1,200 results for SEARCHED THING" to be "About 1,200 results for SEARCHED THING" (basically add link to it)? HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 10:09, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

I believe that can be done with JavaScript, like the one I'm using that creates an "original format" link on file pages that includes format=original in that link. Though, I'm not very familiar with JavaScript so I can't really help there. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 17:51, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
I see. Do you know who could do this? --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 20:03, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
Pcj knows stuff about JS, you could ask him. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 20:06, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Chromie Edit

Apologies, I confused you for someone else. Thought people were just being stubborn about the edit. Baal added some unsupported speculation on Chromie's page after an argument he had on the story forums. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jarlboi (talk · contr).

Instead of initiating an edit war, simply starting a civil conversation on the talk page and lay out your thoughts on the matter would've been a viable option. There was no reason for this. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 23:22, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Daelin Proudmoore

Excuse me, may I know the reasons of undoing my edits--Oxlord (talk) 06:07, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Excuse me, please respond. Do you know about the argument regarding Daelin Proudmoore's Warcraft 3 class?--Oxlord (talk) 11:34, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

He uses water-type abilities. Completely different abilities from what a base unit paladin would use. Obviously Blizzard went out of their way to change these abilities. Additionally, the navy of Kul Tiras had hydromancers as well. There is a possibility he could've very well been one of these hydromancers as well which the abilities supports this case. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 21:40, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Even if Blizzard went out of their way, his class is still legalised by them. And he's also a warrior type, judging by his primary attribute and melee attack. And there's no legalised hero class of "hydromancer" in Warcraft 3. We're talking about Warcraft 3 here. Not every WC3 character of certain classes have the same abilities. Also, the hydromancer and elite hydromancer units only have crushing wave ability each, the rest of their abilities are the abilities of Sorceresses (Slow and polymorph), archmage(Blizzard and Brilliance aura), and shamans (Lightning shield). I have a better suggestion: That is his Warcraft 3 class shall be removed, as it's getting out of hand.--Oxlord (talk) 00:14, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
Not sure what the argument is base on Hydromancer (Warcraft III) and Elite Hydromancer. Their names are a dead give away that they're indeed Hydromancers. As for Daelin, that WC3 icon is there to say he is a Hydromancer for WC3, referenced by the abilities that support this case. He is a warrior base on the TCG which is non-canon. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 00:33, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

After discussing with other editors via Discord and looking at Daelin in-game which does say "Paladin", this seems like a more reasonable thing. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 01:24, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

What about not-listing classes not supported by lore in infoboxes? --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 11:26, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
While I do think on one hand the current way it is laid out is fine but on the other hand, others may not look at the footnote and just assume he is a Paladin which really isn't the case. Maybe just moving these kinds of situations to the notes section would be better suited but I'm not going to decide what is best. Feel free to start a discussion on the character's talk page regarding it. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 21:17, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Wiki got closed?

Hello, I honestly don't know why but looks like my wiki got closed? I created like, 2 pages. I don't know if I did something wrong, I saw you also made some edits, do you know why this happened? Thank you and sorry for the issue... --Paperman02 (talk) 12:41, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

It got closed because it currently duplicates another wiki. I've already asked about it. I'll let you know. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 13:06, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
Thank you... They actually told me this just after I created the wiki, but I explained to them my reasons... The Italian WOW wiki has been inactive for years and is very messy, so I thought an Italian Wowpedia was a good idea, also I don't see the problem since we also have 2 English wikis (Wowpedia and WOW Wiki)... But after I explained this, the wiki got suddenly closed. However, I'll wait. Thank you so much for your support. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Paperman02 (talk · contr).
Well the English WoWWiki is archived, in favor of the English Wowpedia you're on now. Same case with Wowpedia PL archived in favor of WoWWiki PL. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 13:23, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
Got it. Then I'm sorry for my misinformation, I should have checked better before even starting all of this. Just let me know if there's a way out of this, or else I'll just start editing the existing Italian wiki. Thank you again. --Paperman02 (talk) 13:59, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
The wiki won't be opened. It is best to fix up the already existing one. Let me know what you need help with there and I'll see what I can do. The url should have or will be renamed to wowpedia.fandom.com/it. I'll import the articles to there (which you'll still need to move them to their translated names), promote you and make the necessary tweaks. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 18:37, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
It's okay, I get it, also thank you for all your support. Yeah, if you could just export the articles I translated here on Wowpedia, that would be great. I think I'll take it from there, I'm already editing the existing wiki so, no problem. Thank you so much! Actually there's just one thing, but I'm not sure you can tell me, also I hope I'm not annoying asking this: I noticed the article content area here on Wowpedia is WAY wider than other wikis, so the articles look so much better and less "clenched", is there any way to import it on the Italian wiki so it matches? It's okay if you can't tell me, not a big deal, just a thought. As usual, sorry for my English. --Paperman02 (talk) 21:15, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
You can have the wide content width by setting it as your default here: Special:Preferences. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 01:34, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

Patch 9.1.5 Edit

Thanks for correcting that. I thought that patches and hotfixes were contacted in that manner. --X59 (talk) 20:07, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Yea, hotfixes happens pretty much every day. The patch articles are just specific to build releases as per Public client builds. — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 18:19, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

Trying to correct stats

Hi. You may have seen me trying to correct the stats on items from the Well of Eternity dungeon. In truth, fixing the stats on Wowpedia after the squish is a project I would like to contribute to, but there are inconsistencies. a) I have been checking Wowhead to confirm the stats on items that I am not able to access in game, either directly or through the dungeon finder tool. There are inconsistences between this database and the game itself, which concern me greatly considering that the majority of items are things I cannot check without rolling up alts (and considering scaling, what is the appropriate level of an alt to document, for example, the value and statistics of a drop from a dungeon?). There are even inconsistencies with items bought from vendors, which I again cannot always check without using another character; for example, the items from the Caverns of Time reputation vendor have weird price fluctuations from one class of armor to the next and even between pieces of the same set on Wowhead as compared to the game/other available data. b) Due to the aforementioned issue of scaling, I am not sure which set of information to use from Wowhead or elsewhere. As mentioned, the values on a particular item are in flux based on factors external from the item itself (the level of the player obtaining it, for example; this is why there is a slider on the Wowhead page of many times, in order to examine what will be received at different levels). Is this ultimately a futile project? I am afraid that I will contribute no small measure of time and effort only for the stats to be changed again and progress erased. There are also small bugs and issues that I cannot resolve (for example, the  [Pattern: Drums of Panic] tooltip still has "Requires Leatherworking 350" in it even though this is no longer the case, and I have not figured out how to resolve this. Thank you for your time. I know that World of Warcraft is not the titan it once was, but I believe that an up-to-date compendium of information is something that we can still accomplish. If the Star Wars fans, with two whole canons under their belt and far more rabid adherents than we, can pull it off, why not us?

For Azeroth, StrangeStatue (talk) 04:51, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

Keeping the stats up-to-date on Wowpedia is near to impossible, especially with scaling now-a-days. We're not a database... so having the data, to some Wowpedians, doesn't make sense. I've thrown the idea of implementing a slider and just stating what items have what stats would be better (slider to calculate the stats for the specified level). This is still an ongoing discussion, but it hasn't really gone anywhere lately. In terms of what stats to use for now, typically in-game is better to use regardless. Regarding  [Pattern: Drums of Panic] displaying the "Leatherworking" instead of "Outland Leatherworking": it is pulling the tooltip from the item's page. So  [Drums of Panic] would've needed to be updated (which looks like someone already took care of it). — SurafbrovWowpedia's wiki representative T / C 21:03, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
