Vann was a human rider who Danath Trollbane chose to take with him along with half of the military in Stormwind City to the Dark Portal. He first appeared when he interrupted and disapproved when Danath said the Horde was not defeated.[1] When arriving at the Dark Portal he urged Danath to flee to warn Nethergarde Keep for every Alliance on the battlefield knew that they could not win. He was killed on the battlefield by a club-wielding orc as he cheered for the Sons of Lothar for one last time.[2]
