Vara Balnir was the wife of Jorum Balnir and mother of Jarim. Her pride and joy was the snapdragon flowers that grew on the Balnir Farmstead.[1]
In his youth, Prince Arthas Menethil often sneaked off to the farmstead to play with Jarim. Neither of the boys cared that a horsebreeder's son wasn't a proper companion for a prince, and their parents didn't try to stop the friendship.[1]
After murdering his father, Arthas returned to the Balnir Farmstead to revive his dead horse Invincible and found that the Balnirs had all been killed by the very Scourge that he was now a part of. He also noticed that Vara's snapdragons were in bloom.[2]
