Void Mages were blood elves that were among the followers of Magister Umbric exiled from Quel'Thalas for practicing void magics. They would eventually reach the Telogrus Rift, and would take part in the battle against Nether-Prince Durzaan, the aftermath of which would see the gathered blood elves transformed into the void elf race. Following their transformation, the void elves would pledge their loyalty to Alleria Windrunner, who helped save them from the Nether-Prince, and the Alliance as a whole.

- After changing into void elves, the Void Mages appear to have become the Locus Researchers, who share the exact same armor and clothing.
