Volatile Bomb is one of three abilities granted by the level 100 Survival hunter talent [Wildfire Infusion]. It's a modified version of
[Wildfire Bomb] that reacts with poison, causing additional explosions on contact with enemies suffering from
[Serpent Sting]. The bomb also refreshes the duration of Serpent Sting on targets it hits.
Tips and tactics
- An extra explosion, or Violent Reaction, occurs for every enemy that's hit by Volatile Bomb while suffering from Serpent Sting. Each explosion damages all enemies in an 8 yard radius.
- Violent Reaction does not cause additional reactions or refresh Serpent Sting's duration; targets must be hit by Volatile Bomb itself to trigger these effects.
- Volatile Bomb has synergy with the level 30 talent
[Hydra's Bite]. The slight increase to Serpent Sting's damage over time plays into Volatile Bomb's refresh mechanic, and the two extra missiles make it much easier to apply Serpent Sting to large groups of enemies, giving Violent Reaction the potential to deal a huge burst of damage.
Notes
- In the Battle for Azeroth alpha, the DoT applied by this ability was called Volatile Wildfire.[1]
