Vyrin is married to Talithar Swiftwind, though the two became estranged following the fall of the high elves after the Third War: Talithar opted to embrace the teachings of Prince Kael'thas in the name of his people's well-being, while Vyrin chose her integrity. She came to reside at Farstrider Lodge, though retained feelings for her husband, keeping his surname and, though angry at his choice, expressing a longing for him to the dwarf Baenan.

Vyrin and Talithar's wedding rings remained in the latter's possession, who -- after assisting the trapped Baenan in escaping a Horde warship -- asked the dwarf to give Vyrin the rings, and tell her that he never stopped loving her. Baenan resolves to do so, and chooses to name Vyrin's husband a hero after his subsequent sacrifice to save the lives of Baenan and Chen Stormstout.^[1]
