Watch Towers can be used to guard embattled orcish settlements, and provide static defense against land and air attacks.[1]

The Orc's defensive tower. Watch Towers are extremely cheap and possess an extremely high attack rate and range, the latter being on par with Cannon Towers. Numerous towers can shred even the most strongest of opponents, forcing enemies to use siege weaponry to destroy them.
In Reign of Chaos, Watch Towers start with Fortified armor. In The Frozen Throne, they start with Heavy instead. In order to regain Fortified armor, players must research Reinforced Burrows. This does not affect the armor value in any way.

Patch changes[]
- Patch 1.15 (2004-05-10): Build time increased to 60 seconds from 55 seconds.
- Patch 1.07 (2003-07-01): Now has Heavy armor instead of Fortified. Reinforced Defenses upgrade introduced to allow Watch Towers to regain Fortified armor.
- Patch 1.03 (2002-10-09): Watch Towers now do 16-18 damage, down from 19-22 damage.
