This article contains lore or information taken from Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and/or its manual.

These creatures are made of the magical essence of water. Once created, they are loyal servants, and will unerringly do the bidding of their masters. Should they escape the control of their master, they become free creatures to do as they will. They are excellent fighters and will defend those whom they serve to the death.[1]

These are creations of Human magiks. Occasionally found in the service of their Conjurers, these simulacrums have the powers of water to use as they will. When found uncontrolled, they prove to be difficult to disperse, as they gain some semblance of independent thought and motivation. In either case, these elementals will attack until they are destroyed or their foe is dead.[2]

Information[]

Water Elementals are heavy damage-giving ranged units which can form the main body of an attacking force. Better used in groups, and more effective in doing so than Daemons, they can be used to send invisible strikes at critical points of the enemy's city via Clerics. Water Elementals have less health and deal less damage (per strike) than Daemons, but their ranged attack, smaller cooldown and ability to strike from behind path blockers can be deciding factors in a battle between them.

Water Elementals have a "Magic" bar that will slowly decay as time passes. When it is emptied, the Elemental will continuously lose HP until it dies.

Notes[]

  • Within the game's files, Water Elementals are given a cost of 2000 gold, even though nothing but a summon spell can create them.[3]
  • The Water Elemental skips a pixel line as it moves between tiles (For every 16 pixels it moves on the screen, there is a small bump where it moves 2 instead of one per each tile it travels across). This results in it's movement speed being slightly faster than 7.
